Associate Consultant – Organizational Excellence

Job Summary: Raftelis is searching for a new team member to join our Organizational Excellence Team. This position will support engagements in our Organizational Assessment and Strategic Planning Practices. Work in our Organizational Assessment Practice includes reviews of organizational structure, calculating appropriate staffing levels, identifying accepted best practices that are scalable in a variety of contexts, making specific, implementable recommendations, and effectively communicating those recommendations in writing and in public presentations to a variety of audiences. Work in our Strategic Planning Practice includes supporting executive retreats and workshops, facilitating departmental, organizational, and community strategic plans. This includes supporting a variety of engagement activities, such as focus groups, online surveys, and community meetings. As an Associate Consultant, this team member will fill a variety of roles as an important team member working with other Associate Consultants, Consultants, and more senior managers, facilitators, and subject matter experts. What you will be doing: + Helping local government and utility organizations develop and implement strategies to improve their performance, generating higher levels of service at a better value for the people they serve. + Collecting and using data in sophisticated models to support a variety of financial and economic analyses, as well as survey analysis. + Utilizing your communication skills to create reports and deliver presentations for a wide variety of audiences from other professionals to the public. + Support other consultants in the development and execution of organizational assessment and strategic planning projects. You will learn from the industry leaders about financial, technology, and management consulting. You have: + A bachelor's degree in public administration, business, public policy, or a related field + Ability to work within a small team that may be spread across a broad geography + A constant drive to be better and know there is always something new to learn + Experience using Microsoft Excel and other tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) to analyze large data sets + A desire to work hard, perform at a high level, and be compensated appropriately for it + A willingness to travel overnight (up to 25%) with occasional weekend travel + Very strong written and verbal communication skills It would be great if you had: + Experience with performance improvement methods such as Lean and Six Sigma + Prior work experience in local government or utilities Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they can perform every job description task. Compensation depends on education, experience, and location.
