The Supply Chain team is looking for motivated professionals to facilitate the distribution of our great products to customers and consumers. These personnel can analyze production metrics against market needs in Supply & Demand Planning, focus on product transportation through Logistics, or ensure the shelves of your local grocery store are stocked by Direct Store Delivery.   The Associate Corporate Buyer is responsible for purchasing packaging, ingredients & operating supplies associated with Lunch Makers business requirements following established purchasing policies. Optimizes price, delivery and terms in accordance with all policies.

Core Responsibilities

Regularly attends Marketing meetings and provides input on business strategy.

Need to have the ability to make the proper business decisions to ensure operations are not adversely affected.

Manages the day-to-day needs of a Product Line used at multiple facilities.

Controls and follow-up on the redundant and obsolete materials.

As a member of the sourcing group will validate information needed, implementation of new suppliers, lead, and is a liaison between facilities and suppliers including following up on claims.

SAP Gatekeeper for Ingredients and Packaging. Provide facility support for SAP, DSP (Data Stewardship Platform), MRP (Material Requirement Planning), and Packaging inquiries. - Attend cross-functional meetings to assist Marketing/R&D in development and implementation of new products or product changes.

Cross function plant ideation sessions, participate and eventually facilitate break out groups. Enter data into databases to maintain up-to-date supplier and vendor information; and to generate purchasing reports and statistics.

Product plant transfers, cross functional team member representing purchasing.

Point person to implement sourcing awards as needed.

Conduct weekly plant purchasing manager meeting to identify any issues at our facilities that need to be resolved with suppliers- follow up with vendors.

Monitor the quality and timeliness of materials and goods supplied; follow-up the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery; and communicate status of orders with internal customers.

May be responsible for purchasing assigned items, supplies and materials in accordance with approved buying programs using the established procurement policy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Company will consider a currently enrolled college student with an anticipated graduation by end of current school year as qualified. 

C.P.M., A.P.P. or APICS certification preferred.

Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal formats.

Planning, organization and execution skills.

Strong negotiation skills. - Travel estimated to be up 40%.

Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The majority of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant.  The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
