The Harvard College Honor Council is a faculty committee charged with addressing concerns of academic dishonesty. Working together with faculty and the Associate Dean, the Honor Council engages in proactive outreach to the community with the goals of fostering a culture of academic integrity and promoting the value of honesty within the College community. The Council focuses on community governance and education that requires faculty, students, and staff to share collective responsibility for upholding the Honor Code. The Associate Dean supervises the Assistant Dean who serves as Secretary of the Honor Council.
Information about the Harvard College Administrative Board
The Harvard College Administrative Board is a faculty committee charged with reviewing student records, providing exceptions to academic rules and policies, and the adjudication of cases of social misconduct. The Board provides interim supportive measures as required under Title IX and implements the disciplinary response to violations of the University's Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment Policy. The Associate Dean, in coordination with the Assistant Dean, serves as the primary liaison to Harvard University's Office for Dispute Resolution (ODR) and Office of Gender Equity (OGE). The Board also implements the disciplinary response to violations of the University’s Non-Discrimination and Anti-Bullying policy (NDAB) and the University-wide Statement on Rights and Responsibilities (USRR). The Associate Dean supervises the Assistant Dean who serves as Secretary of the Administrative Board.

Position Description:
The Associate Dean of Academic Integrity and Student Conduct reports to the Dean for Student Services and directs the Harvard College Office of Academic Integrity and Student Conduct (OAISC). The Associate Dean plays the leading role in promoting academic integrity and community standards across Harvard College. The successful candidate will be a senior resource at Harvard for those seeking guidance on academic integrity and disciplinary issues. The Associate Dean will demonstrate and apply knowledge of research on academic integrity and student development, and be able to manage a system for adjudicating complex and sensitive community standard cases. The successful candidate will work with administrators and faculty to shape College policy on academic integrity and student discipline and maintain a community committed to academic integrity and honor.
The Associate Dean will be a visible ambassador for the College and will regularly engage with students in different venues such as residential Houses, First-Year Dorms, and Undergraduate Association meetings to educate the community on the Office and its work. The Associate Dean is responsible for leading the team to achieve department goals, managing the department’s budget, and collaborating with colleagues in the Office of Student Services, Harvard College, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and other University stakeholders. This position manages a team of seven, including two assistant deans, four case managers, and one staff assistant.
The Associate Dean is responsible for leading the office's outreach to the Harvard College community. The successful candidate is also responsible, with the assistant deans and case managers, for training resident deans, tutors, proctors, and other members of the Harvard College and FAS communities in the rules, procedures, and practices of Harvard College and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Partnering with other offices, OAISC maintains FAS and Harvard College publications including the Undergraduate Student Handbook requiring careful attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of Harvard College and FAS rules and procedures. The Associate Dean also plays a leading role in maintaining records and case management software and is responsible for managing relationships with external vendors and other units across Harvard University, including the Office of Undergraduate Education, the Office of the Registrar, the Secretary of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and others.
