Associate Demand Planning Analyst

The Associate Demand Planning Analyst will support the Demand Planning team in forecasting and managing product demand to ensure optimal inventory levels and high service levels. This role involves data analysis, trend identification, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive the company's sales and operations planning process.

 

Responsibilities

Demand Forecasting: Assist in the development and maintenance of demand forecasts using statistical and quantitative methods. Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to improve forecast accuracy. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to incorporate business intelligence into demand forecasts. Data Analysis and Reporting: Gather, analyze, and interpret large sets of data to identify trends and patterns. Generate and distribute regular and ad-hoc reports on forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and service performance.  Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to optimize demand planning processes. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure appropriate stock levels.  Assist in identifying slow-moving and obsolete inventory and recommend actions to mitigate excess inventory risks. Support the development and implementation of inventory optimization strategies. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain, to align demand forecasts with business objectives. Communicate forecast changes and their potential impact on supply chain operations to relevant stakeholders. Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the demand planning process. Systems and Tools: Utilize demand planning software and tools to manage and update forecasts. Assist in the development and maintenance of demand planning models and templates.  Support the integration and use of new technologies to enhance demand planning accuracy and efficiency.

 

Minimum Education/ Experience

Bachelor's degree with 1+ years work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.

 

Specific Skills or Experience Required

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with demand planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management principles is preferred.
