The Associate Demand Planning Systems Analyst will be responsible for actively supporting company goals in the analysis of business operations that minimize company cost, maximize process efficiencies, and improve the customer experience with Smithfield. This role is critical in the roll-out of new functionality, the migration of users to new tools, the enhancement of existing tools, process management creation, and troubleshooting existing issues to support Demand Planning.  This position will engage in cross departmental communication to provide analytical support for continuous supply chain improvement. The analyst will be a key support role for analyzing business results and tracking key targets for the Sales and Supply Chain Organization. This position provides reporting to various cross functional teams and levels. This individual will also aid with research and resolve analysis of sales reporting, sales forecasting, systems functionality, as well as ad hoc analysis.

Core Responsibilities

Executes testing of system upgrades, equipment changes or new implementations of systems to confirm requirements have been successfully solutioned

Ensures all system-specific mapping and product coding is maintained and current

Updates business users on new functionality design & rollout of demand planning tools

Works with users to manage system settings that impact system performance and/or data output

Actively participates in all phases of system implementation including requirements gathering, functional and technical design, system design and development, testing and roll-out and support

Supports business reporting and advanced analytics through deployment of Daily Dashboards, Trackers, etc. through MS Excel / Power BI / Supply Chain Software

Executes process re-design and enhancements that promote efficiency and information transparency based on current system

Acts as communication support for all systems related topics within Demand Planning

Works cross-functionally with demand planners and managers to identify areas of opportunity/improvement, make demand planning risk assessments and execute proactive change accordingly

Works collaboratively to define and refine KPI reporting/tracking – providing resource training to ensure planners are aligned to expectations

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

Knowledge of consumer goods production, operations and industry practices as well as background/understanding of supply chain management principles preferred

Computer skills/ability to work with various software packages

Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, written and verbal communication and presentation skills to working level

Good problem-solving and analytical skills

High competency in Microsoft Office tools

Power BI experience preferred

Ability to gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity

Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals

Strong interpersonal skills for effective relationship management with internal & external business partners / customers

Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment

Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
