Summary
The Associate Design Engineer will conduct engineering activities for projects from estimate to order, to delivery. This position requires the ability to perform independent research into new applications or improved techniques of design or manufacturing. This position also requires awareness of regulatory requirements as they impinge on the product design, manufacture, and utilization by the end customer.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Prepare drawings, engineering specifications, and layouts of components and assembliesMake routine engineering computations and make adjustments in drawings or specificationsPrepare estimates, reports and stress analysis and other technical calculations as requiredReview product design plans to ensure accuracy of plans and compliance to design specificationsSelect and specify tolerances, materials, components, etc. as required in the product designGenerate design modifications as indicated by test, usage, customer needs, and vendor changesUse CAD equipment and software to develop designs or revise designsQualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Proficient in computer software applications, including Word, Excel, OutlookProficient oral and written communication skillsAbility to organize and prioritize tasksSelf-motivated and strong work ethicAt least 1 year experience in a position related to manufacturing or in a engineering role (school project, work, or temporary summer job)Experience with quality, engineering, and manufacturing best practicesPreferred Qualifications
