Position Summary
As an Associate Design Engineer, your role will be to help research, test, and analyze new technologies and deployment practices in the telecommunications industry. This will involve creating and participating in field studies, learning and understanding the interface and application of new deployment technologies in the business, and providing results and findings backed by data. This role will primarily be focused on the deployment of network and small cell technologies, contributing to the growth and scaling of the overall business. This will include assisting in the creation and training of standards through multiple mediums. The ability to coordinate and maintain a schedule, including required resources, materials, equipment, vendors, and travel logistics, will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Work with cross-functional teams to understand problem areas across the business, including areas such as construction, operations, and analytics Collaborate with teams across the organization, including leadership, to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that promote efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction Lead data collection efforts for field studies and work closely with internal stakeholders to develop test plans and present findings Maintain comprehensive logs and report on work completed for various assignments. Responsible for timely, accurate, and organized data entry, including presenting, communicating findings, and providing feedback/suggestions on solutions or next steps Conduct hands-on training and education for team members on various topics, including innovations, project deployment, and best practices Travel and take part in work assignments, including field studies, operational improvements, testing of innovations, training, and internal meetings, trade shows, etc. Responsible for conducting hardware and software modifications and/or updates to equipment as necessary. Creating construction job aids and modifying visual illustrations within them Be able to utilize small construction tools and machinery such as: Shovels, Digital Calipers, Concrete Saws, Vacuums, Utility Knives, etc. Learn how to use the tooling required in the telecom industry, including, but not limited to, light meters and OTDR. Provide support to the Program Manager to monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of deliverables and supporting workflows to measure operational performance, as well as identify and assess areas of opportunity for improved process efficiencies and performance Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Crown Castle construction standards, processes, and procedures. Act as a key contributor to continued growth and improvement in each of these.Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or construction engineering technology preferred Alternatively, equivalent experience in related fields such as telecommunications and construction management will be considered A valid driver’s license requiredRequired Qualifications:

Previous experience working with innovative technologies Ability to research, create, and conduct field studies given basic criteria Working knowledge of NESC, NEC and OSHA standards preferred Working knowledge of Telecommunications Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground, and Small Cell Construction) Familiarity with test equipment and techniques for performing Grounding and Bonding Tests, RF Sweep test, OTDR, Optical Power Meter and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testingOrganizational Relationship

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On Mondays and Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home. There is an expectation to work in the field with exposure to RF emissions, construction materials, noise, and waste. Physical demands of lifting up to 60 pounds, stooping and/or standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders in adverse weather and heat. Travel up to 40% may be required.

Depending on the position offered, the compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual cash bonus or commissions, and equity incentives.
