Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders and therapeutic experts. Discover Impactful Work:

The Associate Director ensures a high level of support, service, reliability, and availability to external kit locations and internal departments. Monitors workload and key performance indicator matrices as well as analyzes data to surface inefficiencies and provide solutions. Investigates and resolves process deviations regarding material related issues. Serves as subject matter expert in the software used in the department and data flow through the business with regard to planning and inventory management.  Works closely with corporate Procurement to ensure the accurate vendors are applied as well as providing feedback to assessing vendor performance.

Responsible for global oversite of materials used for kit production and order fulfillment.  This oversite includes ensuring supplies are readily available at each kit location as well as any required reporting and system tools both internally and externally for kit operations.

Global oversite of the Material Coordinators. Evaluates Performance and identifies and corrects performance problems. Point of escalation for calls related to materials issues. Directs and participates in Materials related discussions as needed to ensure daily operations of the department are met.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with internal and external customers to forecast, plan, and facilitate material supply to avoid disruption to the kit production process.Lead all aspects of the planning process for ordering stock to support kit operationsUnderstand and manage risks to minimize impact on production scheduleDevelop and maintain good relationships with kit locations and Procurement to ensure demand for materials are metMonitor materials/components utilization to meet kit production requirements and minimum safety stock levelsAssess volume requirements against planning assumptionsLead follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect kit productionMonitor the integrity of Kit Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy in PPD’s inventory systemContinually monitor overall material vendor to ensure compliance with critical metricsOrganizes and approves kit production paperwork and material purchase orders, and attains/maintains material certifications and import records by collaborating with material vendorsSupport assessment of materials with manufactures and Regulatory to ensure that country restrictions are communicated to internal customersOversee the process for providing obsolete/expired stock billing to FinanceEnsure that kit location physical inventories are completed on time per Finance requirementsDevelop and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Experience:

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10+ years).5+ years of materials management responsibilityProven leadership skills
