The function is made up of over 2,000 professionals, working across the Executive and Regions in the following areas of specialism: Brand; Marketing; Media Relations; Social Media; Internal Communications & Employee Engagement; Corporate communications.

 

BMC also includes a number of teams who are responsible for content development, editorial, webcasts, events-staging, strategy, planning and operations. The opportunity

 

The EY Global Media Relations and Social Media team is seeking a senior level PR professional to lead Consulting and Strategy and Transactions (SaT) - Service Lines. This role is charged with building and expanding the global media and social media profile of Consulting and SaT’s business programs and leadership in support of EY priorities and reputational goals. 

 

The ideal candidate is a polished professional with strong expertise in strategy, execution and senior-level stakeholder management, a critical component of the role. This role also needs to be someone who is proficient and confident in devising and delivering social media content including writing copy, social media briefs and strategy, and has experience of integrated communication marketing campaigns.

 

The individual will be adept at directing, leading, and managing a large portfolio with a broad array of business, technical and regulatory issues and large number of programs. S/he will be able to independently prioritize the most important/high-value activities whilst ensuring that all stakeholders feel appropriately supported through effective management of their expectations. This means the candidate should be able to apply judgment with ease on which activities constitute high-value and act accordingly working directly with senior leaders or playing a key support role to deliver the work for leaders and programs. The individual will also understand how professional services firms bring innovation, agility, and collaboration to today’s organizations to help them reinvent themselves and the value they bring to market. 

 

The candidate enjoys working on a mix of strategic, high-level programs; providing strategic and practical PR and social media support on all major campaigns, reports, thought leadership and events – inputting on both organic and paid approaches. S/he has excellent storytelling and writing skills and will ultimately be considered a valued extended team member of the business team. With long-term goals in mind, the candidate develops, executes, and measures plans, messages and tactics that build toward these aims. As part of this they will have the ability to work in an agile way across multiple client groups and at times across different service lines and/or functions, as well as effectively leverage resources available such as more junior staff and virtual team members. 

 

Your key responsibilities

 

In collaboration with the relevant EY Consulting and SaT Marketing and leadership teams, take overall responsibility for leading the team that develops and implements measurable PR and social media strategies and plans in support of brand and business goals. Provide PR and social media counsel and support for strategic and high-profile campaigns, events and initiatives.  Develop and manage key global executive platforms and spokesperson bench, positioning EY Global executives as experts on key industry issues and hot topics by leading the Consulting and SaT teams to deliver executive visibility plans, proactively identify opportunities for comment or pitching reports and placing op-eds/ comment pieces in the media.  Develop impactful PR strategies, social programs and ideas that are provocative, shape the industry dialogue and drive the EY brand favourability.  Increase the EY share of voice on Service Line strategic topics and themes in global media as well as on social media.  Write, commission, edit or review blogs, op-eds, announcements, social media posts, etc; identify media opportunities; create measurement reports as needed. Work across time zones and communicate regularly with the EY global PR network, informing them of appropriate initiatives and briefing them where appropriate. Manage of roster of agencies and associated budgets and agency effectiveness. Act as a key business partner to EY Service Lines and Corporate Programs supporting on wider brand, marketing and communications strategy development and deployment. Lead key global campaigns and events as necessary working closely with program leads and marketing teams.  Line-manage two associates, providing counsel and feedback to support development of a high performing team. 
 

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have:

 

Prior senior-level PR and social media experience working in-house or within an PR agency, with direct experience managing major international campaigns, including integrated social media strategies and content. Strong expertise in stakeholder management, and high aptitude for decisively identifying high-value activities while ensuring all stakeholders feel supported.   Excellent teaming and relationship building skills and experience in influencing and working within a complex, matrix organisation. Solid people manager and team leader, with experience of building and creating high performing communications teams Willingness and ability to work independently or collaboratively and to have a clear sense of escalation needs and sense of urgency on issues or projects.
