The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
We are looking for an Associate Director, Government Accounting who will be responsible for the following:
Support the overall strategic direction and operation of the Corporate Government Accounting Team including the continued integration and harmonization of Corporate Government Accounting activities and compliance environment between hRTN and hUTC.
Monitor and ensure compliance matters at Corporate with respect to FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) Parts 30 & 31, as well as the administration of CAS (Cost Accounting Standards).
Provide guidance to Corporate functional groups and the business segments with respect to these regulations. Providing segments with tools and support to enable compliance with FAR, DFARS and CAS per company policy. Supporting responses to DCAA audit issues across RTX.
Provide support and liaison activities to the corporate DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) and DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency) concerning various higher risk cost and system audits, negotiating matters of compliance on issues and disputes, development of advance agreements and other inquiries made by these and other agencies.
Work with LCC and Outside Counsel to resolve issues, disputes and litigation as necessary.
Participate in Industry and Professional Associations to address issues in federal contracting regulations and legislation as applicable.
Support overall Corporate Controller activities in Government Accounting and Compliance as required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
At least 10 years progressive experience in government accounting, public accounting or private industry.At least 10 years’ experience in a leadership role interfacing and fostering cooperative relationships with Corporate and Business management at all levels including prior experience working directly with the US government (DCMA/DCAA) and a history of successful performance in similar roles.At least 10 years’ experience with and deep understanding of CAS and FAR regulations. Develops operational plans and strategies related to CAS and FAR compliance that will directly impact the achievement of Government Accounting results.This position typically requires a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting Economics, Business Administration or related field and at least 12 years of relative experience or an advanced degree and 10 years of relevant experienceU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with specialized Government Accounting Projects such as: DFARS Restructuring, DFARS Business System Reviews and having dealt with a Corporate Audit Directorate structure before.Experience with SAP (APEX, PRISM, S4Hana) system and reporting.Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to make improvements to processes and directs, guides and coaches teams on Government Accounting issues.Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with employees, external auditors, and management.MBA, CIA or CPA preferred.Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm.Location/Type: Hybrid/Remote

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
