The Marketing Analytics and Business Insights (MABI) team supporting AbbVie’s US Commercial organization is 200+ members strong and growing every day. The Associate Director of Marketing Analytics & Research for PVEK will design, implement, manage, analyze, and effectively communicate marketing research and analytics initiatives in support of AbbVie’s pipeline asset in a rare leukemia BPDCN, PVEK. This role will be responsible for driving advanced analytic initiatives to enable core and emerging capabilities across Data and Analytics, Marketing and Sales Operations, Customer Experiences, Digital Transformation, Executive Reporting, and Forecasting.  This role will lead sales and marketing analytics across all PVEK existing and pipeline indications enabling brand teams navigate an increasingly dynamic and challenging business environment. Provides both technical and strategic thought leadership in the areas of analytics, marketing, and data sciences in developing and delivering the analytic strategy and operational support for strategic capabilities and transformational initiatives.  This role will also engage with external data and service providers (including IQVIA, ZS, and others). The individual will also derive high-impact learnings from qualitative and quantitative primary and secondary research, behavioral analytics, market intelligence, and internal stakeholder initiatives, and partners across Brand teams and external agencies to inform strategic and tactical decision-making. The ability to influence decisions based upon careful and strategic thinking and understanding of the business is critical to success. The focus of this role will be 80% analytics and 20% primary market research.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as an intelligence partner across BPDCN franchise (e.g., Marketing, Leadership Team, Market Access, AbbVie Patient Services, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, etc.) focused on providing strategic insights, forming a trusted relationship, and staying abreast of commercial issues and burgeoning trends within the BPDCN space. Independently execute and lead Advanced Analytic initiatives and projects, supervise supplier teams’ analytics work, ensuring analytical approaches implemented are built according to best practice and with eventual scaling in mind.Proactively identify new and innovative analytic approaches that would improve our ability to answer commercial business questions by closely collaborating with key stakeholders to transform business questions and data into analytic solutions.Manages ongoing engagements and budgets with external data vendors to ensure AbbVie is getting the appropriate data, services, and support; anticipates, forecasts, and secures appropriate budget funds and support based on current and future business needs.Leads negotiations with external data vendors for short-term and long-term data and services engagements across national and sub-national script data, Specialty Pharmacy data, Patient Level Data, promotional data, RWD, and other data categories and sources.Be conversant with custom research methods, adept at supplier and stakeholder management, and able to independently lead custom research projects that deliver compelling and actionable learnings.Perform thought-provoking and sophisticated syntheses of learning across research, analytics, and market intelligence sources to develop actionable insights and recommendations that shape strategies and tactics.Maintain organizational knowledge of the market, competitive trends, and industry developments and effectively communicate this knowledge to internal stakeholders.Design and execute measurement plans, inclusive of selected operational and performance indicators, to ensure the organization’s understanding of execution of, engagement with, and impact of in market tactics.Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure Brand, Market Access, and APS intelligence is leveraged appropriately to inform development of strategies and tactics.Build solid relationships as a team player, while maintaining objectivity and lack of bias to represent the voice of the customer.Demonstrate thoughtful confidence in presentation of learnings across all levels of the organization.Appropriately manage and collaborate with both onshore and offshore research and analytics suppliers.Monitor and manage research and analytics programs within budget and identify opportunities for cost savings where appropriate.Ensure all research and analytics activities are conducted in accordance with financial and ethical compliance guidelines.
Qualifications
BA or BS degree required. Advanced degrees (MA, MS, MBA, PhD) preferred.~10 years relevant marketing research and/or analytics experience required.Experience in pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical data (physician-level prescribing, institutional sales data, payer-prescriber-level data, formulary data, patient-level data, etc.) preferred.Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, superior organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and creativity in problem-solving.Ability to interact effectively with/present to (verbally and in writing) all levels of the organization.Proven experience as an integral member of a high-performing work team.Experience with and strong aptitude navigating a heavily matrixed and fast-paced environment.Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally within the organization and with external agencies.Demonstrated project management skills.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
