About the role:

Join Takeda as an Associate Director, Market Research and Competitive Intelligence, where you will be responsible for providing an in-depth understanding of the brands/therapeutic areas through market research and identifying opportunities and insights to drive decision-making. You will also create cross-source insights, recommendations and alignment for action by leveraging technical expertise in market research study design and execution. As part of the Business Insights & Analytics team, you will report to the VP, Business Insights & Analytics, and will communicate integrated insights to relevant stakeholders across the organization.

How you will contribute:

Proactively identifies strategic and tactical needs of BU, establishing both long-range and short-term business impact.

Collaboratively prioritizes and builds a market research plan integrated with Analytics and cross functional teams.

Applies and executes high quality analysis and recommendations to therapeutic area and brand processes including commercial planning, forecasting, pre-launch and launch planning process.

Proactively drives analysis and ensures early awareness of key market opportunities and risks through analysis of primary and secondary information.

Sets and provides clear direction in research design with external partners and secures stakeholder buy-in.

Delivers guidance, recommendations and market intelligence insights to commercial brand, medical, forecasting, and executive teams to inform decision making.

Owns and executes CI workshops to develop insights into competitor strategy and tactics for commercial decision making.

Leads in collecting CI at scientific congresses; participates in cross-organization team and implements conference planning process to define Takeda’s business and clinical interests to develop at the congress.

Builds internal stakeholder relationships and partners with Forecasting, Market Access and Medical Affairs to increasingly drive insights and commercial strategy and decision making.

Provides oversight and accountability on all processes related to procurement, vendors, compliance, pharmacovigilance and budget management activities in execution of each CI and market research activity.

Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of quality, comprehensiveness, and timeliness of all process outputs.

Supervises compliance of relevant standard operating procedure (SOP) and industry ethics for BU operations and is responsible for maintaining and tracking learning/training, compliance and safety programs.

Proactively develops and implements new and innovative solutions to meet business needs and resolve business issues.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or scientific field

6 years of progressively responsible competitive intelligence, market research or related experience; or an advanced degree in a scientific, analytical or business field and 4 years of progressively responsible competitive intelligence, market research or related experience

3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred

Demonstrated market research experience, particularly in pharmaceutical and across quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.

Demonstrated leadership skills managing matrix teams, influencing outcomes in strategic and tactical decisions, specific to marketing in pharmaceuticals.

Proven ability to communicate, strategize and collaborate effectively with senior management.

Thorough knowledge of drug commercialization.

Thorough knowledge and passion for excellence in the commercial side of managing pharmacovigilance processes

U.S. Base Salary Range:

149,100.00 - 234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
