Job Description The Associate Director, Marketing Systems Excellence, Review Transformation is a leadership position responsible for ensuring the effective creation and operation of solutions to transform AbbVie’s Material Review Process (MRP) and related activities. The individual in this role must have expert knowledge of the Material Review Process as well as a strong understanding of the various cross-functional perspectives within: Regulatory, Medical, Marketing, Editorial, Commercial, Legal and Compliance. This position drives and oversees complex, cross-functional programs that require extensive collaboration across the enterprise and with external partners. This role is the Business System Owner (BSO) of the technical solution that leverages Traditional and Generative AI to augment the process, currently named Project JedAI. As the leader of the program, they will bridge the gap between business needs and technology, ensuring that the system delivers value to the organization while remaining compliant and reliable. This is a hybrid position and requires the ability to commute to our Mettawa, IL office at least 3 days per week. Accountability and Scope: + Reports to Lead Director, Marketing Operations within the US Therapeutics Operations organization + Works with senior management across Marketing, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, BTS and the Lab + Oversees program budget of ~$7-10MM annually + Manages business support team BSO Responsibilities: + Ownership and Accountability + Responsible for the lifecycle management of the application + Single point of accountability for the system’s performance, reliability, compliance and business needs + Strategic Alignment + Ensures the system aligns with the organizational objectives and business strategy + Partners with stakeholders to translate business needs into system capabilities + Stakeholder Engagement + Interfaces between users, technical support teams, vendors and other business units to address needs and solve issues + Maintains collaborative relationships across the enterprise + Collects inputs and feedback for system enhancements and new features + Governance and Compliance + Maintains adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies + Oversees system validation, audits and risk management processes + Budget and Resources + Controls the financial aspects of the system, including budgets for maintenance, upgrades and training + Identifies and allocates resources necessary for optimal system operation and support + Continuous Improvement + Oversee ongoing system optimization to improve user experience, efficiency, and return on investment (ROI). + Oversee ongoing system optimization to improve user experience, efficiency, and return on investment (ROI). + Operations and Support + Oversee ongoing system optimization to improve user experience, efficiency, and return on investment (ROI). + Oversee ongoing system optimization to improve user experience, efficiency, and return on investment (ROI). Qualifications + B.A./B.S./Business, Communications or Advertising (MBA not required, but desirable) + 8+ years of experience in project or program management. + 5+ years of experience in digital marketing or advertising + Proven leadership competencies to include setting vision and strategy, building teams, knowing the business, driving for results, and encouraging open exchange of ideas and knowledge. + Strong, proven management experience across multiple functions including management of exempt personnel in fast-paced, service/team environment. + Highly motivated change agent that can drive business-focused solutions. + Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to distill highly complex requirements into compelling business objectives. + Strong problem-solving abilities in complex, regulated environment. + Pharmaceutical industry experience required.
