Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$122,250 - $179,300

Associate Director, Consumer Media Strategy

Position Overview

Lilly has created a new centralized Global Customer Office by assembling a group of teams who are passionate about understanding and helping customers work together and meet their evolving needs within a sophisticated healthcare ecosystem. The goal is to deliver remarkable, data-driven, end-to-end experiences across a myriad of touchpoints to drive positive outcomes for people living with health conditions ranging from diabetes to obesity to stage IV cancer and beyond.

In today’s constantly evolving world, consumption habits are shifting faster than ever before. As such, Lilly is reimagining and reinvigorating a new Media Center of Excellence, using a centralized team focused on best-in-class fresh media thinking. This team is charged with formalizing the build of valuable channel-specific marketing expertise, processes, innovation, and knowledge-sharing. Lilly is staffing for an Associate Director, Consumer Media Strategy working in the hub and connecting with our marketing teams. This position reports to the Senior Director of Consumer Media, US.

An ideal candidate is an ROI-motivated, omnichannel media specialist, with end-to-end knowledge of strategy, execution, and measurement to partner with cross functional teams at Lilly. They will need to deliver incredible business results through paid consumer media investment to meet company plan goals.

Core Responsibilities:

Media Planning & Development, Implementation & Measurement: Collaborating with the media agency, lead development of outstanding consumer media strategies. Partake in annual brand planning process; including development of media objectives, channel strategy, channel mix and measurement plan, while challenging the status quo and constantly seeking greater plan performance. Ensure consistent application of media return on investments, historical performance and consumption insights across touchpoints and channels to increase revenue growth of plans.

Leadership and Influence: Lead and influence decision making cross-functionally, by developing data driven media strategies, which lead to positive customer experiences. Prepared for discussion/presentation to leadership 2-3 levels up, including CMO’s and other C-suite.

Agency Management: Effectively lead large national media agency relationships. Establish expectations (two-way) for client – agency partnership. Establish relationship with agency leads to deliver customer oriented strategy and tactics. Develop action plans as needed based on regular partnership evaluation.

Market Monitoring: Review marketplace data, both via media spend by channel as well as competitive SOM, in collaboration with brand marketing and BU leads to recommend brand implications/actions.

Financial Management: Track and lead budget for all channels including reconciliation. Provide roll-up to brand teams and make recommendations for trade-offs as needed.

Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all consumer marketing guidelines, good promotional practices, privacy policies, and other policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications: Senior, professional with 8+ years’ experience, ideally at least 5 years’ media agency experienceBachelor’s degree: Communications, Marketing, Media or Business or similar degreeQualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
