The Associate Director Medical Affairs is the primary clinical/medical representative for new product development projects. The main responsibilities include being the medical core team member on all product development project teams. In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for generating the preclinical & clinical evidence strategy to support clinical claims and participates in characterizing the product's capabilities and clinical workflows in collaboration with the Marketing, R&D, and other development team members.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
· The Associate Franchise Medical Director will work with Medical Business Partner to; R&D, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality & Regulatory Compliance, Pre-Clinical, Health Economics & Market Access and Professional Medical Education.
· He or she will ensure the development and execution of product and/or procedural evidence generation and dissemination strategies.
· The Associate Franchise Medical Director will be supporting early product introduction to the market supporting launches as well as internal & external training.
· Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
· Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition
· Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
· Performs other duties assigned as needed
**Qualifications - External**
+ A minimum of a Master’s Degree or equivalent is required; however a MD/DO as well as additional advanced degrees are highly preferred.
+ Previous industry experience leading Medical/Clinical/R&D teams in a highly regulated, commercial medical device business is highly preferred.
+ Significant experience with clinical research is required.
+ A strong background in Electrophysiology and/or Interventional Cardiology is required.
+ Demonstrated expertise and success in building; Medical Affairs, Clinical Research or Research & Development teams to meet the needs of a global set of businesses serving different clinical specialties or therapeutic areas is preferred.
+ Demonstrated success in medical data generation, interpretation and publication highly preferred.
+ The candidate must have strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to build successful relationships with internal and external partners globally.
+ Strong communication and negotiation skills are needed to successfully influence and implement policy with key customers and partners.
+ In addition the Associate Franchise Medical Director must be able to collaborate well with multiple partners and work effectively in a matrix environment.
+ This position is based in Irvine, CA and may require up to 50% travel, national and international

**The anticipated base pay range for this position is :**
The anticipated base pay range for this position is 159000 to 274850. California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is 184000 to 316250.
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
