Associate Director, Medical Information
Job Description Summary:

The Associate Director, Medical Information provides a premium medical information service to support internal and external customers, whilst contributing towards the successful commercialization of PTC products. Working with colleagues, the incumbent assists in developing a common vision for global medical information, whilst focusing on his/her respective countries of responsibility. He/she enhances the effectiveness of our external relationships and collaborations by ensuring the quality of communication materials and related promotional activities.

The Associate Director, Medical Information works cross-functionally with internal departments and external resources on Medical Information related issues.

The Associate Director, Medical Information supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.Job Description:

Responsibilities of the role include: 

Provides operational oversight of the enquiry handling service for countries of responsibility within medical information.Provides second-line expertise for enquiries escalated from the medical information call centres. Generates enquiry “standard response” and “frequently asked questions” documents, incorporating local preferences when needed, whilst ensuring the core consistency of responses.Contributes towards the development of global response documents.Analyses complex scientific information and writes custom responses as needed.Conducts comprehensive literature searches in response to unique medical enquiries Generates enquiry metrics for specified reporting period; highlighting trends and identifying needs and solutions as appropriate to help meet enquirer needs. Ensures accuracy of reported information.Attends medical and scientific congresses to provide scientific information at medical booths.Implements and improves processes, systems and tools for sharing knowledge within the medical information group, and throughout the organization.Keeps abreast of developments (e.g., local legislation and regulations), new technology and the competitive environment.Provides medical/scientific alerts to internal colleagues in a timely manner, following business or development relevant publications.Participates in meetings to increase awareness of medical information services and available information. Manages allocated medical information projects and resources, including those with a global reach.Identifies and informs management of any issues that may jeopardize PTC’s products or business.Deputy for their manager in his/her absence when required.

Requirements for the role include: 

Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or scientific discipline and minimum of 6 years’ experience in medical information in a pharmaceutical medical information.In-depth working knowledge of relevant pharmaceutical industry codes and legislation relevant to medical information.Ability to comprehend and analyze complex scientific information and communicate it in a suitable way for the intended audience.Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication and management. Extensive knowledge of information retrieval and dissemination processes and medical information systems and databases. Excellent verbal and written communication and skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.  Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.  

Special knowledge or skills and/or licenses or certificates preferred.

Advanced degree (Pharm D, PhD, Masters).Experience in orphan/rare disease research.
 

Travel requirements

15%Remote or hybrid based position - This role will require attendance at infrequent office meetings with some international travel.
