Job Summary

The Associate Director, Operations will contribute to building and maintaining a top-tier operations, staff, and talent management program supporting all members of Chicago Booth’s Office of Advancement. This position is responsible for overseeing the Department’s employee lifecycle management program, including hiring protocol, onboarding and offboarding programs, and serving as a liaison to supervisors. The Associate Director will be responsible for implementing staff and talent management initiatives and program for the Department and will be a subject matter expert in this area.

This position is responsible for crafting and disseminating department wide communications and developing and executing engagement plans for the department. The Associate Director will serve as an entrusted delegate leading the department’s staff and talent management program and contributing to the operations team’s areas of focus as lead on policies and procedures, and overseeing technology and facility needs. In addition to these leadership responsibilities, the Associate Director will work collaboratively with the Director, Operations, and Senior Director, Advancement Operations and Campaign Management to develop and implement a staff and talent management program.

Responsibilities

Manages the Office of Advancement’s employee lifecycle management program.Evaluates and executes the Department’s hiring protocol, onboarding and offboarding programs.Serves as liaison to supervisors during all stages of the employee lifecycle ensuring a consistent and seamless experience for all advancement team members.Oversees and implements staff and talent management initiatives and program for the Office of Advancement.Serves as a subject matter expert in Staff and Talent Management.  Leads, maintains, and manages a Chicago Booth advancement orientation session for new staff members.Servesas Booth Advancement’s liaison to the University’s Alumni Relations and Development (ARD) department and works closely with ARD’s Associate Director, Events and Programs, and Talent Management Administrator.Crafts and disseminates department wide communications, and develops and executes engagement plans for the department.Continually evaluates and determines innovative ways and technologies to utilize, for communicating information to advancement team members and increase job satisfaction throughout the department.Contributes to the Operations team’s areas of focus, serving as lead on policies and procedures, and overseeing technology and facility needs.Uses best practices to develop and execute organization's operational and overall strategic plan. Develops and implements relevant policies and procedures and ensures compliance.Works with minimal guidance in space, facilities, and equipment, including renovations, moves, maintenance and ongoing facilities operations.Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.


Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:

Minimum three years of professional work experience in operations management, talent management, advancement, alumni relations, or similar work.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

Learn and manipulate programs including, but not limited to, Zoom, Oracle, and Orbit.

Working Conditions

This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
