Associate Director, Outcomes Research

We built Tempus to collect, structure, and organize data from disparate sources to power innovation and discovery. And now we are looking for a Key Account Director to join our rapidly growing Life Sciences team. This role will focus on creating and expanding our global client relationship with some of the world’s leading biopharmaceutical organizations.

The Associate Director, Outcomes Research will lead and oversee research projects for late stage / commercial customers. This role involves designing and implementing research studies, analyzing data, and providing actionable insights to guide decision-making and improve outcomes for biopharma. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of research methodologies, and the ability to communicate complex findings to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Research Design & Implementation: Develop and execute retrospective database analyses and observational studies to assess the outcomes of programs, products, or interventions. This includes designing study protocols, selecting appropriate methodologies, and working closely with the data sciences and biostatistics team.  Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including key account directors, business development, alliance management, data sciences, and biostatistics to align research objectives with organizational goals. Additionally, work closely with customers to ensure high quality and timely deliverables. Reporting & Presentation: Prepare and present interim analyses and deliverables to biopharma customers. Create detailed reports, presentations, and publications to communicate results. Project Management: Work closely with the alliance manager for the execution, and deliverables of outcomes research projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with regulatory and ethical standards. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in outcomes research. Apply this knowledge to enhance research methodologies and improve overall research quality.

Qualifications:

Education: Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in health economics, health services research, epidemiology, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in HEOR or RWE, with a proven track record of leading research projects and managing teams. Experience in oncology research is required  Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of epidemiological methodologies, real-world evidence generation, and statistical analysis. Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R). Ability to conduct analyses utilizing claims and EHR data is required.  Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborative and team-oriented with strong negotiation and influence skills.
