Associate Director, Portfolio Management - Diversified Industries
Description

Summary:
The IST Associate Director, Portfolio Management services and, in conjunction with Relationship Manager, deepens assigned portfolio of clients by pro-actively identifying and evaluating opportunities and mitigating associated business risks, in accordance with Huntington policies, procedures, and Guiding Principles. Owns primary responsibility for credit monitoring and escalation of issues as appropriate. Responsible for underwriting quality, portfolio administration, and credit quality of assigned portfolio working directly with the Team Leader, Regional Commercial Management, and Regional Credit Officer. Reviews and negotiates credit documentation in consultation with legal counsel. As appropriate, assists in optimizing customer relationships working directly with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management, and other team members to effectively grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue by presenting practical Huntington financial solutions to customers. Manages delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base, portfolio reviews, specialized reporting, product exposure annual reviews, criticized loans, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be expected to:Underwrite and close broadly-syndicated, complex commercial loansProvide credit recommendations to the appropriate level of credit administrationReview loan documentation in consultation with legal counselManage risk on an ongoing basis by monitoring customer credit worthiness, adherence to loan terms and general business conditionsManage annual reviews and renewals, portfolio reviews, collateral exceptions, borrowing bases, delinquencies and other reportingAs appropriate, assist in optimizing customer relationships working directly with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management, Capital Markets and other team membersPerforms other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required3-5+ years of experience underwriting and documenting commercial loans

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of formalized credit training programDemonstrated success structuring complex credits; researching, judging and presenting information verbally and in writing; creating documentation to support the credit and minimize riskDemonstrated leadership experience by providing coaching, skill development and feedback to team membersProven negotiation skillsProficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel and other software applications that are supportive of the loan underwriting processStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of professionalism
