Associate Director, Product Management - HT NGS Systems

The Associate Director, Product Management for on-market support activities for Illumina’s leading HT NGS Systems portfolio including the NovaSeq X and NovaSeq 6000 series systems. This position will also lead a team of high performing Product Managers responsible for all product lifecycle activities and market strategy of the HT NGS Systems sequencers and associated core reagents. The successful candidate will be a highly independent, seasoned veteran who can creatively lead cross-functional programs, act as the subject expert and product champion for the portfolio with internal stakeholders and our customers while building best-in-class marketing capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Work with product management, regional teams and senior management to develop and implement market development strategies for key target markets

Partner with field teams, business development, corporate marketing and product management to execute strategy and hit milestones

Build and manage close relationships with KOLs and industry influencers in order to achieve market development goals and stay abreast of emerging market trends.

Conceive and execute strategy to influence society guidelines and payer policies

Leverage and communicate market information internally to best inform Illumina’s product development, regulatory and market entry strategies

Support Commercial in-field activities including customer & field education on utilization of new and existing Oncology products, including creation of a speakers’ bureau

Develop scientific and clinical proof points to increase system placements and reagent utilization

Qualify and define collaboration opportunities at strategic labs

Synthesize customer experiences and desires into new Oncology product concepts in partnership with Product Marketing.

Requirements:

Previous business strategy, business development, sales, or marketing experience related to genomics and clinical practice.

Experience in strategy consulting, product management or investment banking would be preferred.

Proven experience in a strategic role working collaboratively and independently to drive results

Ability to influence across the organization at all levels, including previous experience in managing individual contributors would be preferred.

Willingness to travel up to 15%

Experience/Education:

Requires Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, may require an advanced degree in in Genetics, Molecular Biology or related field

MBA, MD or Ph.D. is desirable

7+ years’ experience with genomics technologies, products and/or

applications

7+ years’ experience in translational research or clinical trials or other

related experiences

Broad knowledge of all areas within particular Corporate sub-function or a function within an operation.

Typically has depth of technical knowledge in function derived from experience in non-management and middle management roles.

Requires high level understanding of markets and sales opportunities for the company’s products.

Typically has 7+ years of applicable management experience as assessed by Illumina Executive Staff

The estimated base salary range for the Associate Director, Product Management - HT NGS Systems role based in the United States of America is: $167,200 - $250,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
