ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible is seeking an Associate Director to support our Product Planning and Operations function. In this role, you’ll expose, quantify and manage the tradeoffs across Audible’s product portfolio to optimize long-term customer and business value. You’ll partner closely with Product and Insights leaders, Finance, and Data Science to establish frameworks that balance growth and profitability initiatives, and enable teams to build plans to execute against our short- and long-term strategy. This includes defining and driving the processes for how we set and track goals, and manage towards intended outcomes for the customer. Successful candidates for this position will have strong business acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority. A good understanding of the product development lifecycle is a plus.
Customer Obsession is at the heart of our Product team and we are constantly striving to create unforgettable listening experiences for our customers. Our team innovates at the highest level and has a thirst for continuous learning, a commitment to action, and a belief that anything is possible.
ABOUT YOU
- You're a self-starter who is biased for action, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and employs impeccable organizational and analytical skills with an eye for process improvements
- You're a data-driven strategic thinker who will readily abandon closely held-ideas in favor of stronger evidence — constantly iterating to improve the customer experience
- You're a rare combination of “thinker” and “do-er” paired with a strong aptitude for understanding of product strategy and operations
- You're an exceptional communicator with a knack for making complex data simple and evangelizing and inspiring people at all levels of the organization
- You're a transformer who is passionate about figuring out what the future looks like, with a relentless focus on creating and improving customer value
- You're a hands-on multitasker who can quickly change focus and balance the needs of the moment with longer-term goals with a high tolerance for ambiguity and complexity
- You're resilient with positive attitude – even the stiffest challenges are possible with the right amount of creativity, good judgment, and hard work. You exhibit strong integrity and ability to follow through on commitments and deadlines
As an Associate Director, Product Strategy, you will...
- Work with the Director of Product Planning & Operations to drive the Product and Insights (Pi) strategic planning process. Build and refine processes that drive transparency, efficiency, and accountability across teams
- Manage a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework for Product, problem solving tradeoffs across our goals and KPIs to inform resource allocation and proactively manage risk. Collect inputs and put forth clear and actionable recommendations for senior leaders
- Tie goals to our strategic planning process and resource allocation frameworks. Manage and oversee the development of automated reporting infrastructure to track progress against our goals
- Ensure goal setting and business reviews adequately expose tradeoffs of decisions made across the portfolio, and reflect both the short- and long-term business implications
- Partner with senior Product leaders to assess the risks and profitability tradeoffs of strategic Product initiatives
