Associate Director, Rail and Transit Advisory

Discipline:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to oversee winning and delivering Rail and Transit Advisory projects in the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of transport programmes, projects and schemes ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will be responsible for building strong client relationships and driving growth in our portfolio of work, helping our clients advance, plan for and invest in sustainable transport and play a leading role in supporting Rail Reform activity in GB Rail.

This role will report to the Rail and Transit Advisory Practice Manager, sitting on the SLT and will have responsibility for managing, developing and growing our dynamic London-based team. The successful candidate will have strong experience of working with colleagues across the business to build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, and will have extensive experience of working in the Rail and Transit advisory space. This is a high-profile role within AtkinsRéalis where you will be responsible for providing transport advisory leadership into the wider business.

Your purpose:

Lead the delivery of rail and transit advisory programmes.Working with Global market teams, to build capacity to support Advisory business.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders.Ensure all projects and programmes are delivered in accordance with agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Provide strategic direction and leadership to project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.Oversee the preparation of project documentation, including business cases, project plans, and progress reports.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and methodologies.Identify and pursue new business opportunities working to expand our client base and service offerings.

What you can bring:

Proven experience in delivering large-scale transport programmes and schemes.Strong understanding of the transport sector and the role of DfT, Network Rail and all national and sub national transport bodies.Good awareness of the changes underway to transition to GBR, and the impacts and opportunities rail reform presents across the sector.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.Strong stakeholder management and client management skillsAbility to think strategically and drive innovative solutions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Significant experience in a client-facing role, preferably with the DfT and Network Rail.Relevant degree and professional qualification in transport, engineering, project management, or a related field.
