Associate Director, Supply Chain Planning

Job Summary:

The Associate Director, Supply Chain Planning will play a critical role in leading and managing the supply chain planning function of our organization. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to optimize supply chain processes, improve efficiency, and drive overall supply chain performance. An expertise in supply chain planning and an ability to collaborate cross-functionally will contribute to the successful execution of our business objectives.

Reporting to:     Executive Director, Supply Chain

Location:     Newark, CA (hybrid - 3 days/week onsite)

Salary Range:     $135,470 - $186,334

 

Responsibilities/Essential Duties:

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the strategic vision for the supply chain planning function, aligned with the overall business objectives. Identify areas for improvement, define goals, and establish performance metrics to track progress and success. Supply, Demand, and Scenario Planning: Oversee the S&OP process and execution of comprehensive supply and demand planning processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, procurement, and logistics, CMO, and 3PL, to ensure accurate demand forecasts, optimize inventory levels, and meet customer demands while minimizing costs and risks. Inventory Management: Lead inventory optimization efforts by establishing inventory targets, implementing effective replenishment strategies, and monitoring inventory levels. Analyze demand patterns, market trends, and supply constraints to ensure optimal inventory allocation and reduce stockouts or excess inventory. Collaborative Forecasting and Demand Management: Foster strong partnerships with sales and marketing teams to gather market intelligence, assess demand patterns, and incorporate business insights into forecasting models. Implement demand management strategies to enhance accuracy and timeliness of forecasts. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as manufacturing, logistics, procurement, and finance, to align supply chain planning activities with their respective functions. Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency across the supply chain. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain planning function, leveraging data analytics, process optimization, and technological advancements. Implement best practices, standard operating procedures, and performance metrics to monitor and enhance supply chain performance. Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of supply chain planning professionals. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promote professional development, and ensure the team's success in achieving individual and departmental objectives.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Master’s degree & 5 years’ directly related experience; OR Bachelor’s degree & 7 years’ directly related experience; OR Associate’s degree & 10 years’ directly related experience; AND 3 years’ managerial experience directly managing people, projects, programs or resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. APICS CPIM certification or equivalent. Master’s degree/MBA. Previous experience managing teams. Proven experience (10+ years) in supply chain planning, preferably within a multinational organization. Experience in S&OP process development, implementation and management. Strong knowledge of supply chain concepts, including demand forecasting, inventory management, capacity planning, and distribution strategies. Proficiency in supply chain planning software and systems (e.g., ERP, demand planning tools, inventory optimization software). Experience in pharmaceutical operations/GMP environment. Working knowledge of CMO and 3PL relationship management. High Proficiency in MS Office; primarily PowerPoint & Excel required.
