Associate Director – Indianapolis Device Manufacturing Supply Chain

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$122,250 - $179,300

The Indianapolis Device Manufacturing (IDM) Supply Chain team participates in the development and implementation of strategies and processes to ensure reliable supply of devices and device parts across a global network of external and internal manufacturing locations.  This team serves as a key point of contact between contract manufacturers (CMs) and the Lilly manufacturing sites that they supply.  Through collaboration with cross-functional teams including internal and external groups across the world, the team connects, analyzes, and communicates information to support development of network supply plans and monitors execution to ensure the reliable supply of parts and devices required to make products for patients.

As an Associate Director – Indianapolis Device Manufacturing Supply Chain, you’ll play a pivotal part in maintaining a reliable supply of devices and device parts across our growing global network of manufacturing locations.  You will have the opportunity to support and advance standard processes and tools to manage supply planning for device component supply across a growing global network of contract manufacturing (CM) partners and device assembly manufacturing sites.  This will include processes of multi-source demand consolidation, forecasting alignment, capacity analysis and S&OP, monitoring of execution of plans, inventory projection modeling, as well as governance and communications for network supply.

Responsibilities:

Functional:

Lead and advance of standards for processes and tools for capacity and demand management activities and network supply oversight across product portfolios

Analyze data including integration of information from multiple demand sources, supply nodes of capacity, forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels to make decisions and optimize network supply planning

Support and lead Contract Manufacturer, Site, and Global S&OP processes

Analyze, influence, and drive improvement in reporting and key metrics to enable decision making and ensure effective management of supply

Influence and support for site business planning and long range planning processes

Collaborate with global supply chain and manufacturing sites as a part of effective governance process for supply of products in portfolio

Support problem solving for quick resolution of supply chain or supply capability issues

Implement strategic planning initiatives

Process onboarding for new supply network nodes

Identify risks within product portfolio and implementation of strategies to mitigate

Leadership: 

While this position is an individual contributor role, the employee should actively support and coach supply planners on IDM supply chain team working with CMs and manufacturing sites for management of reliable product supply within portfolio.

Establish and maintain key relationships across stakeholders with application of strong collaborative skills to ensure alignment among various functions.

Lead effective communication of information to various stakeholders

Work cross-functionally with stakeholders from different functions and sites (both internal and external) to ensure execution of planning activities and communication of actions and challenges.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or other relevant technical field required.

Minimum of 7 years of experience preferred. Experience in supply chain planning, manufacturing, or sourcing/procurement preferably on a global scale, preferably in a regulated industry.

Additional Preferences:

Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to connect the dots across the supply chain

Advanced skills with key applications for support of program management (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.)

Proven experience with supply chain system software tools (e.g. SAP)

Maintains a self-starting mentality.

Highly developed analytical and critical thinking capabilities.

Excellent presentation & reporting skills.

Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across multiple organizations/functions.

Highly skilled communicator with ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to others

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form and maintain strong relationships internally and externally and effectively engage with stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in tools for data analysis and visualization (e.g., Excel, Python, Tableau, Power BI etc.)

Proven analytical capabilities targeted at planning/inventory models and metrics.

Supply Chain Knowledge – APICS/ASCM certification preferred.

Organized & self-motivated.

Experience in balancing operational projects and strategic initiatives with a demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members and deliver results

Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty. Demonstrated ability to identify and prioritize problems, develop, and implement solutions
