Associate Director Financial Aid - Operations
Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities: Assumes overall responsibility for daily operations of the Financial Aid office, including training and management of operational staff, awarding aid, verification, Satisfactory Academic Progress ( SAP ) and appeals, return to Title IV calculations (R2T4), compliance and process improvement. + Maintains full working knowledge of the federal, state, and institutional regulations. Develop and maintain departmental procedures to ensure continued compliance. + Provide leadership, training, supervision and professional development of staff members. + Develop and execute auditing and quality assurance procedures to monitor all daily performance of staff. + Troubleshoots awarding and disbursement of aid and resolve all discrepancies in a timely manner. + Counsel students and parents as needed. + Participate in college night functions, summer orientation sessions, workshops, classes and other activities as necessary. + Work closely with federal, state, and internal auditors. + Coordinate with other departments what is needed for the University to remain in compliance with regards to maintaining eligibility to utilize Title IV funding. + Work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Systems to ensure quality of awarding and reporting processes. + Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements: + Exceptional communication and customer service skills. + Two years of supervision experience. + Minimum of three years’ experience with administering federal financial aid, working with federal regulatory guidelines, and federal financial aid software systems.
