Associate Director Global S2C Excellence Procurement

Job Description / Capsule:

A new position dedicated to daily support of all procurement activities for Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease studies and at a later stage, management of implementation of AZ procurement model and processes to Alexion projects.  

To manage strategic relations with the Business Stakeholders, Global Category Teams and in-market Procurement Managers and lead the complex and high-value Source to Contract projects related to the new Alexion scope. The Procurement Manager shall utilize the category / area expertise (categories of the R&D SET) as well as sourcing & contracting knowledge in order to efficiently execute the procurement strategies, deliver financial savings and ensure business continuity of key contracts in the respective categories. The Procurement Manager will report to the Source to Contract Team Manager in the Hub. Alexion Pharmaceuticals is pharmaceutical company that specializes in orphan drugs to treat rare diseases. It became a subsidiary of AstraZeneca in 2021.

Typical Accountabilities, Experience & Behaviours

Responsible for supporting Business Stakeholders, Global Category teams and in-market Procurement in the Source to Contract process:

Building and managing strong relations with Category Managers, Procurement Managers and Business Stakeholders,Providing procurement recommendations as per selection of the most efficient ways of executing the strategy, proactively proposing solutions to all AZ Partners involved in sourcing & contracting projects,Supporting Global category leaders with developing Sourcing strategy to deliver category targets and savings targets,Independently managing and negotiating the complex sourcing projects and contracts (Master Service Agreements, Professional Service Agreements, other),Evaluating and recommending complex and variable procurement models to efficiently execute the strategy weighing alternatives and balancing conflict situations,Supporting market research activities by issuing RFI,Managing sourcing projects (incl. issue of RFP, RFQ),Conducting e-auctions,Analysing received proposals, making recommendations for supplier selection, preparing the summary reports,Acting in the role of a Subject Matter Expert to other Team Members,Initiating improvement initiatives to drive simplification & standardization of the sourcing processes across the team,Actively participating in the Source to Contract process improvement and optimisation (process steps, internal ways of working, legal support model, documents and templates etc.),Ensuring compliance to company procurement policies and improving the usage of the procurement tools,Contract renewals and new contracts creation – negotiations/renegotiations of the T&C’s and contract clauses,Contracts administration – gathering signatures and contract storage in the system,High standards in cooperation with business stakeholders, ability to connect and build strong relationship with stakeholders across the globe (matrix organization)

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Education

University degree required

Experience:

At least 6 years of the work experience in the procurement department or supply chain (preferably in the organisation with a big or mature procurement organisation)Significant, proven category knowledgeSignificant, proven sourcing & contracting experienceincluding E2E Source to Contract process, effective usage of negotiation techniques and tools (eSourcing solutions), wide experience in negotiating commercial terms and contract clausesAbility to independently run complex contracting projects, including driving in suppliers negotiations processExperience in managing stakeholders across the globe within the matrix organizationAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyProblem solving / continuous improvement approach“Can do attitude”Microsoft Office literacy
