As the Associate Director of Tech at Lilly NALO, you will lead the NALO Tech at Lilly team, driving technology innovation, system reliability, supplier management, and digital transformation. You will be responsible for the deployment, support, and continuous improvement of systems critical to NALO operations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As the Associate Director of Tech at Lilly NALO, you will lead the technology strategy, operations, and digital transformation for NALO’s logistics and distribution systems. Your work will ensure that NALO’s technology solutions remain innovative, efficient, and compliant while meeting business objectives.
How You’ll Succeed:
Strategic Leadership:
Lead the Tech at Lilly NALO function, driving innovation and operational excellence.
Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for technology solutions that support NALO’s logistics and distribution operations.
Align technology investments with NALO’s business priorities to enhance efficiency, security, and compliance.
Represent Tech at Lilly NALO in leadership forums and serve as a key liaison between business partners and IT functions.
Collaborate with Global Supply Chain, Distribution, and Logistics teams to support enterprise-wide supply chain transformation initiatives.
Team Leadership and Development:
Build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members, promoting their growth and retention. Mentor others in the organization.
Foster effective communication and collaboration between IT and other departments to align IT solutions with business needs.
Establish a strong site culture based in Lilly values, expectations, and operational excellence standards.

Technology & System Management
Ensure the reliable operation and continuous improvement of systems supporting warehouse and logistics operations.
Oversee system integrations, upgrades, and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Drive cybersecurity and compliance initiatives to protect logistics technology and data integrity.
Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical operations.
Reduce system maintenance downtime by improving documentation, defining clear requirements, and increasing end-user involvement.
Project and Financial Management:
Participates in the preparation of the whole departmental budget and capital planning. Leading the preparation of budget and/or capital projects and is responsible of managing it.
Plans and coordinates with the Corporate IT, local IT and business groups the introduction of new technologies, methodologies, systems development and end-user productivity tools.
Partner cross functionally locally and globally to establish and implement site IT roadmap.
Dynamically adapt IT roadmap to site evolution/strategic directions, and new trends/issues.
Lead and manage IT projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery within allocated budgets and resources.
Monitor project progress, identify, and address risks, and adjust plans as needed to ensure project success.
Keeps key stakeholders informed and engaged of your group accomplishments, goals, and progress.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
Ensure systems and equipment compliance with industry-specific regulations, such as FDA guidelines and GMP requirements, Lilly corporate policy and procedures, and local procedures to maintain product quality and safety.
Ensures to be in compliance with Cybersecurity aspects, assure systems and equipment are well protected following planned or unplanned patching cycles. Maintain linkage with related Cybersecurity global efforts to assure systems are in compliance.
Enforce security protocols to protect confidential information and ensure privacy compliance.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate IT audits and inspections, addressing any findings promptly.
What You Should Bring:
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing IT teams.
Experience in facilitating cross-functional collaboration, aligning IT initiatives with business needs and fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
Demonstrated experience in developing and executing IT strategies aligned with business goals and industry best practices.
Understanding of emerging technologies like cloud computing, IoT, AI, and data analytics, and their potential applications in the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks like ITIL, ensuring efficient incident management, problem resolution, and change management processes.
Proven track record in successfully leading and delivering complex IT projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
Familiarity with project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall, and the ability to tailor approaches based on project requirements.
Proficiency in project management tools like Jira, Microsoft Project, or Trello to facilitate project planning, tracking, and collaboration.
In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, such as FDA guidelines and GMP compliance.
Experience in implementing and maintaining validated systems, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards (CSV).
Demonstrated creativity, analytical thinking, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5+ years of IT leadership experience working in GMP regulated industry.
Experience with IT audits, compliance assessments, and remediation activities, including addressing findings and implementing corrective actions..
Other Information:
Role is Monday through Friday and based on-site. Must be flexible in providing support to accommodate other inputs (Delivery schedules, shutdowns, etc.). Occasional extended hour and / or off-hour work may be required.
Position will be based out of the Plainfield, IN Distribution center with ability to travel to Lilly sites as required.
