Our leadership has a vision driven by innovation—innovations that start with our associates in Maryland and are helping patients around the world._ We are seeking an Associate Director of Product Management to join our Global Molecular Diagnostics Platform team within Diagnostics Solutions. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, this role will be responsible for leading a global Molecular Instrumentation and Software portfolio through its entire lifecycle and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to execute product line strategies. The candidate will champion cross-functional initiatives to drive product performance, including revenue growth, margin improvement, quality, and delivery, ensuring the success of the molecular automation portfolio. The candidate will be instrumental in driving global product line strategies, product development, new product introductions, and expanding market presence for our Molecular Diagnostics business. **Key Responsibilities** + Lead the development and execution of multi generation product portfolio strategy through coordination with cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization + Drive the new product development and introduction process, ensuring successful launch and commercialization + Work cross-functionally to handle the overall life cycle of assigned product lines, including product changes, inventory needs, production planning, and quality to ensure products are positioned competitively globally + Evaluate and craft financially sound business proposals for new products and partnerships that will serve to expand portfolio revenue + Collect and monitor voice of customer, competitive insights, market, and technology trends to shape strategies and roadmaps + Ensure assigned products are receptive to market needs, driving continuous improvements where needed to maintain and/or improve market penetration and share position + Establish pricing positioning, monitor product pricing vs. the competition, lead product-specific price/margin improvement initiatives, and participate in global price changes + Partner with R&D, Operations, Sales, and Marketing to adjust the product line, products, and related features to drive both market share and financial results + Conduct business analyses for assigned products/product lines to support business planning and generate actionable insights + Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to develop and execute marketing plans and demand generation to achieve product line objectives + Ensure appropriate technical support for sales and field applications teams, including assistance with communicating and positioning products + Refining the Product Management process and ensuring it is in line with business priorities + Effectively communicate product forecasts, working with global regions, planners, and supply chain to ensure accurate demand planning and product build; actively represent in Demand, Supply, and Operational Planning **Qualifications & Competencies** + Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent is required. Advanced degree and/or MBA preferred + 7+ years of relevant product management experience within diagnostic or life sciences industries + Solid product management foundation in leading instrumentation portfolios through their entire lifecycle, from development and commercialization to obsolescence. Experience with molecular instrumentation is strongly preferred. + Shown success in leading global new product development projects through the stage gate process + In depth knowledge of molecular diagnostic laboratory instrumentation and workflow + Strong analytical skills with ability to conduct and interpret financial analysis related to the product portfolio and translate customer insights into actionable strategies + A strong record of leading and running cross-functional teams and navigating within a matrix organization to achieve goals + Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, with comfort in communicating across various levels of stakeholders + Results-driven and proactive in finding solutions, with the ability to think critically to overcome potential business hurdles and complete tasks **Travel** + Willing to travel up to 30% of the time At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
