What We Want
The Associate Director of Social Media in the Division of Marketing and Communications will assist in leading Texas A&M University’s social media strategy, elevating the university’s online presence and managing the social media accounts and support team.

Salary: Commensurate on selected candidate's experience
This position may require occasional travel
This position may require occasional work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends
Responsibilities:
Leadership and project management for full-time employees, student workers and interns.
+ Determines work priorities and assigns work accordingly
+ Promotes an environment that is respectful of others and promotes honest feedback and coaching of employees
+ Ensures that staff are properly trained to be successful
Provide strategic vision for campaigns and initiatives
+ Develop comprehensive social media plans
+ Manages the execution of social media plans
+ Coordinates with groups contributing the campaigns and initiatives
Social media governance and management of the university’s primary social media channels
+ Assist with the coordination of content development
+ Review and approve social media content
+ Analyze success and reach of social media content
Social Listening
+ Analyze online conversations about the university through social media listening
+ Identify trends
+ Identify opportunities and weaknesses
+ Create reports and provide recommendations to executive leadership
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Eight years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field
+ Experience in paid campaign tracking
+ Expert user of Sprout Social
+ Prior experience in Higher Ed
+ Experience with developing marketing and communications plans and campaigns for Higher Ed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Ability to positively and professionally interact with others
+ Detail oriented
+ Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
+ Experienced in managing common social media platforms and current on the best practices for those platforms (e.g., YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, LinkedIn, etc.)
+ Ability to work cooperatively with others
+ Experience in digital accessibility of electronic information resources
