JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

** This position is located in the central Office of Sponsored Programs. **

Directs the administrative process associated with all contractual proposals and awards. Negotiates contractual terms and conditions with funding agencies/ sponsors. Reviews final contractual terms and award notices prior to institutional signature and distribution. Serves as an authorized institutional signatory for specific types of sponsored research proposals and agreements. Assists organizational representatives with issues related to sponsored research contracts by serving as liaison to funding agencies/sponsors and the institution to resolve questions or issues. Assists in maintaining and compiling data to generate management reports. Hires, trains and supervises staff. Assists with the development of office processes and procedures. Conducts training and educational sessions for faculty and staff on contract award management, contractual issues and institutional policies regarding sponsored research contract awards. Assists the Director with special projects. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight years of professional management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Extensive experience with review and negotiation of a variety of sponsored research contracts.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
