Position Overview:
The Associate Director of the Stevens Service Learning Center serves as the central point of contact for the Stevens Center’s formation and education-related partnerships and programming. In this role, the Associate Director of the Stevens Service Learning Center assists in the operations of the Austin Scholar program, serves as the coordinator for the Merrimack STEM Pathways for Youth (MSPY) Program and oversees educational service learning placements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work in conjunction with the Executive Director of Civic and Community Engagement to assess and grow civic and community engagement, including relationships with community partners. Work in collaboration with the directors of the Austin Scholars to coordinate the operational functions of the program, including course registrations, service-learning placement and tracking, and student mentor support. Develop, coordinate and manage all aspects of the Stevens Center’s service-learning and external educational programming including the Merrimack STEM Pathways for Youth (MSPY) Program. Assist with the hiring, training and management of student employees and student mentors. Offer Virtus: Protecting God’s Children Training to volunteers multiple times during the academic year Work in collaboration with the other members of the Stevens Center on office programming and campus events. Perform other duties as assigned in support of holistic student formation programming and the Division of Mission & Ministry.Educational and/or Training Requirements:
Master’s Degree required Valid driver’s license Trainer Certification through Virtus: Protecting God’s ChildrenKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Familiarity with, and support of, the Augustinian Foundations and Mission of Merrimack College Proven record of accomplishment of establishing and maintaining successful relationships within an organization and with its external partners. Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing tasks and duties. Ability to be self-directed and act collaboratively in order to achieve departmental and institutional goals. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators and community partners Familiarity with Google Suites.Experience:
