Associate Director Strategy

Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division **(EPD)** is looking for a **Associate Director Strategy** for its global Pharma Division Headquarter based in Allschwil- Basel. **Primary** **Job Function** EPD's Strategic Management Office (SMO) has been tasked with (1) defining growth objectives around portfolio, markets and technology requirements (2) shaping the organization for effectiveness and (3) ensuring sustainability of the processes and operating model defined under the first two objectives. The Associate Director of SMO would be responsible for structuring, building and rolling out the strategy management office and projects across EPD. End to end design, detailing, execution and project management of key projects of Established Products Division. The position is responsible for working with and/ or leading cross functional teams across the commercial geographies. Key focus areas of the role would be defining where the EPD should play and how to win (markets, therapeutic areas and technology imperatives), project management of organizational transformation initiatives (driven with internal and external capabilities) and geographic expansion of existing assets (through development of regional manufacturing hub strategies in conjunction with Operations) that would yield efficiencies and margin expansion across the BU. The role will also support business in defining and articulating project management across the organization, creation of internal and external insights framework and preparation of BU Project Frameworks and executive briefing documents. Associate Director of SMO will lead EPD internal and external cross-functional teams to assess optimal process and organizational design and make recommendations around structure, operating set-up and ultimate end state. This role will work in a matrix across EPD and support functions to enable a consistent and structured approach and buy in from GMs and Regional Functions. **Core Job** **Responsibilities** + Build best in class organization. + ContinuallyrefinethefuturevisionofEPD.Developstructuredprocessestoensuresustainability of the business. + Identify and conduct detailed design of strategic / transformational initiatives and projects, bringing in best practices and insights from internal and external sources (market, competition and other industries) into the project design. + Influence BU leadership on changes arising out of key project recommendations, with sound logic and supporting insights. + Assess what EPD needs to do differently, what capabilities this will require and how this compares with EPD organizational capabilities today. + Assess and challenge all departmental processes with an eye towards innovation and operational excellence. **Minimum** **Education** + Graduate from a reputed institute; MBA from a reputed institute highly preferred **Minimum** **Experience/Training** **Required** + 8-10 years of total experience required including experience with top tier management consulting firm + Prior experience in driving strategic projects and cross functional teams is a must. + Prior experience in emerging markets is a must. **Skills and Competencies** **Required** + Strategic and Project Management conceptualization and articulation skills + Ability to effectively communicate and influence in a matrix and at Sr. Management level + Problem solving skills, business acumen, industry knowledge and project management skills + Data analytics and quantitative skills + Accountability for delivering high quality results + Ability to multitask and work within a matrix organization + Being adaptable towards new situations and having an out of the box approach Do you like the sound of this job and think you’ve got what it takes?
