Responsibilities OVERVIEW: Under the direction of the VP Supply Chain-Pet Integrated Planning, the Associate Director Supply Chain Planning is accountable for the development of strategies and plans to meet customer service goals, optimize finished goods inventory levels, network costs and communicate the operational plan to the organization. This role has direct responsibility for leading and developing the team manages production planning, inventory planning and deployment planning for the PCB’s Pet Business. The incumbent is responsible for and ensures an effective plan execution in the following areas supply planning operations, master supply planning, inventory strategy and planning, production strategy, planning for postproduction assembly. This position is responsible for the entire company finished goods inventory portfolio (~190 Million pounds) at a SKU/DC level. This position is accountable for adopting and maintaining the management operating system within the respective planning functions. The Associate Director Supply Chain Planning interacts with, influences and collaborates with all Pet manufacturing sites (4 plant facilities and several co-manufacturers) to create, audit and optimize the total Pet business supply plan (~1.4 Billion annual pounds), capacity and inventory plan to improve service and total cost performance. It is important to develop strategies and practices that support customer service, optimize production, and continuous improvement initiatives through communicated objectives and operational goals. Position seeks to identify constraints, assess risk and reduce variances in organizational processes while leveraging technology to positively impact quality and results. This position has a key role in developing, executing and communicating the strategic direction for objectives in network efficiency and inventory optimization. Leadership responsibilities include supervising supply planning operations managers and master supply planners, collaborating with supply chain operations, customer strategy and execution, plant operations, finance and a lead role in the Integrated Business Planning process (IBP) monthly cycle. Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Lead and champion supply chain planning strategies, policies, processes and efforts that increase efficiency, profitability, and sustain company goals, objectives and growth. Develop relationships with functional departments and supply chain teams to ensure cohesive planning and alignment. Drive the Supply Review of both short-term and long-term plans as part of the IBP process. Accountable for delivering the total Pet business supply plan through each IBP cycle for a rolling 18 period horizon. Responsible for optimizing the plan for cost and network efficiencies. Run various supply plan scenarios as needed, in partnership with Demand Planning team to determine feasibility/impact from various risks and opportunities. Provide overall guidance on identifying and resolution to constraints within the operational plan. Assess, evaluate and respond to organizational Issue Statements representing Supply Planning perspective Lead and develop the Supply Planning team members to design, implement and communicate the overall operational plan for the organization In collaboration with Supply Chain leadership team, establish a culture of continuous improvement across the supply chain planning teams to eliminate waste and defects throughout the processes. Establish individual and team performance direction. Ensure supply chain planning teams follow appropriate processes and procedures, leading changes or improvements as needed. Remove barriers when needed. Develop and maintain metrics that measure and communicate performance (i.e. case fill, inventory metrics including excess and secondary sales, production plan performance, etc.). Prepare annual and long-range Supply Chain Planning plans that summarize how the department will support Company objectives. Leadership Competencies: Customer focus Drive for results Command skills Action-oriented Managerial courage Conflict management Problem solving Manage vision and purpose Interpersonal savvy Business acumen Total work systems Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or related field is required Integrated planning systems training like ERP/DRP/MPS/MRP/CRP is required EXPERIENCE: Would prefer a minimum of 7-10 years of combined related experience, with a preference in a food processing/FMCPG environment, ideally with at least 2 years of manufacturing experience Strong knowledge of Supply Chain management systems and processes Strong knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques Able to build relationships and inspire others Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement through empowerment and management by data
