The Associate Editor is responsible for creating, editing, and managing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) content for online and print products. This position will delve into a topic area and break down complex ideas into simple terms. This role works in a team environment and contributes content to other related products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Write and edit clear, informative, and engaging content in a variety of formats (e.g., news, feature stories, reports, infographics, etc.) according to the company’s standards for quality, style, and voiceManage products through the editorial and production process, including sourcing material, editing and formatting text, and shepherding content through review, proofreading, design, and final productionUpload relevant content to applicable Web properties through the content management system and ensure content displays and functions correctlyMaintain social media activities as assignedAdhere to strict deadlines and budget requirements for all assigned productsStrengthen market knowledge and cultivate relationships with sources and customers to ensure products address the issues challenging readersTrack market trends and collaborate with colleagues to brainstorm new productsPropose new product ideas in your area(s) of expertise across all product lines, and manage all content-related phases of the new products process, including conducting research, writing proposals, and presenting the finished conceptWork collaboratively with other content specialists in the peer editing processAdditional Responsibilities:Additional duties as assignedCritical Competencies:Ownership & Execution – Demonstrates a sense of ownership to drive issues to closure, maximizes the use of existing processes while continuously pursuing ways to improve efficiencies, sets aggressive goals, monitors progress, and delivers results, seizes more opportunities than othersCollaboration & Team Building – Builds and maintains relationships to successfully work toward common strategic goals, creates strong morale and spirit, fosters open dialogue, creates a sense of unity among teamThe Individual:Strong verbal, written, analytical, research, and communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to juggle and meet multiple deadlinesDemonstrated ability in time management, multitasking, and project managementStrong organizational skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative environmentAttention to detail, accuracyAbility to think logically, classify content, and apply taxonomyProficient in Microsoft Office
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related fields2 to 5 years of experience in reporting, writing and editing a daily or weekly publication
