Haymarket Media, Inc., is seeking an Associate Editor to join a dynamic, science-minded team of grammar nerds, otherwise known as Haymarket’s Medical Communications Group. The associate editor will be responsible for supporting The Clinical Advisor, which publishes peer-reviewed articles and clinical news tailored to the needs of nurse practitioners and physician associates. This position is located in our New York City office with a hybrid schedule that allows for in-office collaboration with the team on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and remote work on Thursday and Friday.


Job Overview:

The Associate Editor is responsible for providing editorial support integral to the development of digital clinical content for an audience of health care practitioners (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and others). The Associate Editor will write, edit, and post news articles; develop KOL connections through associations and contributors, focusing on topics that will drive readership interest. Coordinate social media posting, including the use of video clips and InfoGraphics. In addition, the Associate Editor will be trained to develop feature articles and create video content for web and social media. Daily skills include publishing news and feature articles using WordPress, retrieving reference materials, and optimizing content for SEO.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Use WordPress to publish content

Assist in the creation/writing/editing of content

Oversee the procurement of reference materials for content development

SEO best practices

Maintain The Clinical Advisor’s social media presence across various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn)

 

Skills and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism/Communications or Biological Sciences preferred

Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets) and Microsoft Word required

Proficiency with WordPress or another content management system is preferred

Proficiency with Workfront is a plus

Proficiency in audio and video editing is a plus

Excellent reading comprehension, listening and analytical skills, and oral and written communication skills

A successful record of handling simultaneous projects successfully and adhering to deadlines

Experience as a collaborative team player who can work independently and cross-functionally within an organization and follow through on all assigned tasks

The salary range for this position is $55,000–$60,000. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skill level, functional and/or industry knowledge, education level, certifications, as well as other qualifications.
