Associate Electrical Designer (Hybrid) 03/26/2024

Locations: East Berlin, Connecticut

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are full time in the office.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking, problem solving member to join the Electrical Design team where you will be responsible for designing and supporting Substation projects in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.

Essential Functions: 

Develop detailed engineering designs using computer-aided techniquesDevelop final detailed design packages for projects through discussions and meetings with appropriate engineering & construction personnel, design disciplines, and outside vendorsPrepare conceptual designs and sketches based on field investigations, project scope, and engineering criteria supplied by project/discipline engineersPerform field visits during the design process to verify site conditions, resolve field issues and verify the accuracy of the designProvide guidance, training, and direction to design drafters in the development of finished drawingsPerform technical calculations for substantiating designsPrepare, approve, and maintain bills of materials and other supporting documents associated with design drawing developmentProcess, review, and approve design changes to accommodate field-related problemsVerify the "as-built" conditions of design documentsAssist in the development of department standards in accordancee with utility industryReview and approve vendor projectsProvide design input to engineers for project developmentProvide support for additional equipment, materials, or services in connection with constructionProvide design services to Engineering upon requests to aid them in the preparation of federal, state, and local license submittalsRequired to perform Storm duty assignments

Technical Knowledge:

Must have working knowledge of electrical systems: experience in wiring, working knowledge of one-line, three-lines, and schematicsPrefer working knowledge of AutoCADAbility to apply department design/drafting standards and proceduresWorking knowledge of applicable industry codes and standardsEffectively communicate ideas and directions, both written and orallyDemonstrate ability to apply basic electrical theory, technical mathematics, and basic science

Education: 

Must have Associate degree in Electronic Engineering Technology​, or two to four years of directly related electrical experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.  The annual salary range for this position is $70,610 to $78,450, plus incentive.  Salary is commensurate with your experience.  Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
