Job Description:

We are seeking an Associate Engineer, Mechanical Engineeringto join our engineering design team in our Huntsville, AL location.  

Perform a variety of professional mechanical/aerospace design engineering tasks of a conceptual design, detailed design, analysis, or development nature of Solid Motor Propulsion, Controllable Solids Propulsion, and/or Air-Breathing Propulsion field.Performs entry-level professional engineering assignments under close supervision and following established policies. The position requires some professional judgment and a limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories and concepts. Applying theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of basic analytical engineering problems, correlates and analyzes data, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or procedures. Assisting in preparation of reports, presentations and documentation. 10% - Follows established/standard policies and procedures on details of work and makes preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. With continuing development and experience, receives more difficult problems and supports more complex work. Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor and other professionals in the assigned section or group.Performing a variety of engineering tasks that are planned to provide experience and familiarization with the engineering staff and Aerojet Rocketdyne programs, methods and practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.

An advanced engineering degree is a plus.A strong mechanical aptitude and experience with CAD software tools is desired (PTC CREO preferred)Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Hands-on experience with mechanical systems is strongly preferred (aerospace, automotive, aircraft or machinery).
