Associate Engineer - Turbine Mechanical Solutions

Based out of our new headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA, we are looking for an associate engineer with knowledge and experience in industrial equipment design to join our team of global problem solvers. You will become an essential part of the Turbine Mechanical Solutions group with engineering design and field support responsibilities for our customers in the North American power industry.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Create 3D models and assemblies using software packages such as Inventor and Pro-Engineer.  Create 2D drawings using design packages such as AutoCAD Capture 3D point cloud data using CMM equipment such as Faro Quantum or Focus M70.  Perform post-processing of 3D point cloud data to be used for design engineering functions Ability to select and size hydraulic components such as valves, cylinders, servos, pumps, logic valves, etc Develop and interpret mechanical installation drawings which include dimensional fits, tolerances, welding, and equipment assembly procedures Apply engineering principles, techniques, and experience to resolve partially defined technical problems Ability to understand and follow a set of mechanical and electrical installation, calibration and testing instructions Identify the specific problem(s) and develop creative solutions that satisfy customer needs, industry codes, government regulations and policies and procedures within the scope budget, and schedule constraints Optimally deliver technical presentations to internal and external engineers and managers to describe existing products/services and/or explain technical problem resolution Engage in effective interactions with first-level managers, other engineers, and support personnel, as well as customer engineers to complete project assignments

For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Discipline, or Equivalent 0-3 years of related experience  Perform work in an office environment and at customer sites within operating facilities (e.g., power plant) which includes walking on grating, use of stairs and ladders, hot or cold ambient temperatures with a potential high noise level, as well as carrying mechanical hardware weighing up to 40 pounds and the ability to be on your feet for a 12-hour shift.  Work with our customers and influence customer relationships in a positive manner Support and provide technical direction to craft labor at industrial sites Strong mechanical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and creative design  The right candidate should have a strong organizational and note-taking skills with the ability to work within a team Equipment testing and inspection experience Must be able to travel up to 30% Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
