As an Associate Environmental Remediation Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:
• Work with a dynamic team within an established global infrastructure consulting and engineering company.
• Work with a team of Environmental Remediation specialists to evaluate, plan, and implement strategies to assess and remediate contaminated sites.
• Join Black & Veatch’s Environmental practice focused on ensuring environmental stewardship for our clients.
Our Environmental team is a multidisciplinary team of ecologists, engineers, scientists, project managers, and attorneys working together to identify optimum environmental solutions for our clients. We have provided environmental consulting services in support of projects for over 40 years including a diverse and growing mix of infrastructure projects such as power generation (conventional and renewable) and transmission, oil and gas facilities and pipelines, water and wastewater treatment facilities, data centers, and food and beverage industries. As a full-service environmental consulting practice, services include impact assessment and planning, regulatory compliance and permitting, wetland and floodplain analysis, waterbody and water quality assessment, air quality permitting and management, environmental remediation, site due diligence, environmental noise assessment, pollution prevention planning, and climate action solutions.

Key Responsibilities• The Associate Environmental Remediation Specialist is responsible for supporting the evaluation, planning, and implementation of strategies to assess and remediate contaminated sites.
• Works with various environmental media such as soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water to remove pollutants and ensure the protection of human health and the environment.
• Supports field assessment, environmental due diligence, preparing reports on findings and remediation efforts, developing remediation plans, and monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of remediation activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Other degrees, specialized training, or experience that uniquely qualifies the individual to perform the job responsibilities may also be considered.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in environmental remediation or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and field assessment experience.
• Domestic travel up to 30 percent required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to balance multiple projects while working under tight deadlines.
• Strong technical writing abilities.
• A minimum total of 1 year of related work experience is typically necessary to move into this level.
• Graduate work may count as related work experience if directly applicable to job function.

• Work Environment: Typical office/home office environment. Physical Demands: Sitting, talking, grasping, hearing, keyboard input, driving, seeing, writing, reaching, stooping, crouching, walking, standing for extended periods of time.
