The Field and Operation Service Technician will be responsible for installing systems and supporting dealers and customers. Also, to assist Valley sales & support staff regarding questions about installations, troubleshooting, and app/website navigation for the entire Prospera technology hard- & software portfolio, sold to new and existing customers. This involves consistent customer support and interaction, as well as travel to customer sites to diagnose issues and provide training for ongoing maintenance and resolution of technical issues. Prospera is a market leader for cutting-edge agriculture technology. Through its various software solutions, we enable growers to better understand the performance of their fields & equipment and give them actionable insights to improve the way they utilize their resources to grow more with less. We’re looking for a motivated individual who will install systems in the fields, support, train, and answer technical questions from both dealers and growers.
Essential Functions:
INSTALLATIONS, SUPPORT AND DEALER TRAINING:
75% travel during peak season (February-August). Estimated 50% of travel within the region and 25% of travel outside of the regionWhen traveling out of the office, main responsibilities will be to physically install, service, and train dealers and growers on Installations, Service, and Product KnowledgeWorking independently in the fieldPlan, organize, and provide in-field and classroom training to dealer service technicians for installation and troubleshooting of Prospera technical equipment and softwareSupport the development and implementation of new hardware & software product rollout plans with required user trainingSchedule and coordinate field visits with dealers and growersHARDWARE AND SOFTWARE TECH SUPPORT:
Responsible for dealer and end-user customer technical support from the office and in the field as necessaryIncludes answering questions from customers regarding equipment installation, service, troubleshooting, website, and App navigationAnswer incoming tech calls via phone and emailDetermine the nature of the call and determine the best path to resolution; either resolve the problem or escalate to the appropriate tierAssist customer inquiries about products and services during high call volumeOpen tickets for the relevant stakeholders (Customer success, HW support, SW support, etc.) in SalesforceOther Important Details about the Role:Assist sales staff on occasion with grower meetings and dealer visitsAssist Valley marketing with the development of technical documents including install manuals, troubleshooting guides, and ‘quick tip’ videosCompany vehicle, credit card, tools, and phone providedAssist with ordering and tracking of parts for dealersOther Important Details about the Role:
Must have the ability and personality to calmly deal with de-escalate tense situations in the field and on the phoneEffectively communicate technical solutions, ideas, and questionsMust be flexible for overnight travel on short notice. Mostly domestic, and sometimes internationalMust see things through to completionBe a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervisionRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Over 2 years of technical experience in the agricultural industry, preferably within the Irrigation and/or Precision Ag segments is an advantage.Ability and willingness to travel as required.Able to work effectively with a team of peers and superiors.Self-starter, able to plan and work independently.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must have a strong technical understanding of electronics.Salesforce knowledge is preferred.Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years relevant experiencePrevious experience in Ag Irrigation servicePrevious experience in Precision Ag IndustryCertified Electrician#LI-RA2
