Associate/Full Professor
Job Description:The J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida invites applications for multiple full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of associate professor. Candidates at the full professor level may be considered on a case-by-case basis. The positions have an anticipated start date of August 2025.
We are seeking candidates in all areas related to Biomedical Engineering. However, we have a special interest in candidates with backgrounds in neural engineering and molecular & cellular engineering.
The faculty members will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the biomedical engineering curricula; initiate and sustain externally sponsored research programs; recruit and supervise graduate students; and engage in service activities for the University and the profession. Applicants must possess a PhD in a related field by the start date. Dedication to excellence in research, teaching, and service, and evidence of scholarly achievements are required. The candidate should have a record of or demonstrate the potential for successful proposal writing, PhD student mentoring, scholarship, and classroom teaching.
The J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida (https://bme.ufl.edu/) has 28 primary faculty members and more than 60 affiliated faculty members working in all aspects of biomedical engineering and is expected to grow in upcoming years. The total student population is more than 400 with 125 in the Ph.D. program. Recent US News & World Report has BME ranked as 10th in undergraduate program and 12th in graduate program among public universities. The University of Florida is ranked as the #7 Best Public US University according to US News & World Report.
Expected Salary:Salary to commensurate with education and experience.
