Associate General Counsel Position Summary 

The Associate General Counsel at TidalHealth is responsible for handling legal matters assigned by the General Counsel including, without limitation, healthcare operational and regulatory matters, corporate, employment, litigation, quality of care matters, governance and board-related matters, physician and business arrangements, environmental matters, and transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and syndications. This position serves as a legal and business advisor to TidalHealth within healthcare operational and regulatory law, and state and federal physician self-referral laws; fraud and abuse laws; EMTALA; credentialing; peer review; CON; corporate and transactional law; provider enrollment and licensure. They act as a critical liaison between the General Counsel Office, other departments at our Hospital System (corporate office), and Hospital Group Leadership. This position provides management of the day-to-day responsibilities with regard to contracts; works with clerical staff with regard to contract issues and other matters.

 

Associate General Counsel Position Requirements  

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.

License and/or certification:

 Licensed to practice in Maryland and Delaware (within one year of hire).

Experience:

Minimum two (2) years of comparable work experience in a hospital setting or law firm is required. Previous experience in drafting and negotiating agreements. Prior in-house experience in a health system or large law firm is preferred.

 

Associate General Counsel Schedule  

Primarily day shift, Monday through Friday This position is on-site Evenings and weekends may be required as needed.  

Associate General Counsel Benefits 

At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.

Salary range: $145,000.00 - $184,850.00  Commensurate with experience
