Overview We are seeking a full-time Associate Global Partnership Manager in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for being a high performance, results-oriented professional negotiating and managing partnerships in the fast-pace, dynamic environment of technology and consumer electronics. Essential Functions Globally serve engineering by securing external partners offering content, technologies, and intellectual property, negotiating favorable business terms, leading the relationship development and activation across departments in support of all Garmin Segment products and services based on Garmin’s corporate Mission, Vision and Values Initiate/develop technology, content, IP licensing or partnership opportunities in support of engineering requirements across five Segments Leverage pitch skills, tools and methods to position Garmin with Partner for the best results with these methods and skill will be used continuously throughout the partnership Negotiate favorable terms to minimize financial obligations, maximize profitability, minimize operational obligations and/or reduce liability for Garmin Leverage EBD-created contract due diligence tools to thoroughly analyze agreements delivering best-in-class agreements Serve as partner SME managing Garmin’s contract compliance with expertise of all contractual obligations to educating applicable departments of requirements and deliverables to ensure compliance through the full term Drive cross-segment awareness of relationships/partnerships to maximize Garmin’s scale/position Manage partner on-going engagement and communication to the business Segments Manage on-going engagement/communication to the partner serving as primary Garmin point of contact through all phases of partnership Cultivate relationship with partner to build rapport while also securing additional monetary value and/or marketing value for GarminCommunicate partner/industry insights to engineering while representing a strong understanding Garmin’s product portfolio and market vision Proactively manage contracts and lifecycle of partners that are required for long-term product sustainability Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline AND a minimum of 3 years relevant experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Must possess a minimum of 3 years business development and/or marketing experience relevant to Garmin’s business needs for this role Demonstrates a proven track record in engagement/passion for technology business development to support Garmin’s product development technology licensing & development needs Demonstrates high level of self-motivation, takes initiative operating with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, changing environment and ability to act effectively with little direction Partnership experience or licensing experience with proven relationship building skills and proven track record of responsiveness Business expertise & understanding of macro business financials Service-orientated, ability to multitask and support many internal customers/external partners, and has through/complete work with quality mentality Strong negotiation skills and experience which appropriately balance risk and reward Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with concise yet detailed content in delivery Possess critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail as well as strategic/broad thinking across multiple disciplines Demonstrated ability to think & plan for worst-case scenario in contract terms Leadership abilities for partnerships and cross functional team leadership skills Ability to learn/understand new technology with natural curiosity to understand concepts below the surface and keen interest in the consumer electronics, technology and/or mobile markets Demonstrates aptitude towards technology, belief in the Garmin brand and possess enthusiasm for Garmin products and active lifestyle participation in our target markets (automotive, marine, recreation, or fitness) Exhibits proven ability to deal with confidential company matters and exercise sound independent judgment Must demonstrated proficient computer skills using Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Access Desired Qualifications Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree 3+ years applicable work experience Bachelors or Masters of Science Degree in a technical discipline, including Electrical, Software, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering. Demonstrated understanding of current development technologies across various platforms Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) Project management experience relevant to successful performance of the essential functions of this job description Owner of Garmin products and/or frequent review of publications such as TechCrunch, Engadget, Gigaom, Gizmodo, DC Rainmaker, etc. Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
