We're hiring an Associate III, Manufacturing role to support cGMP downstream manufacturing process for our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Associate III, Manufacturing is responsible for supporting the overall cGMP downstream manufacturing process, through the application of broad knowledge of theories and principles utilized to solve operational, as well as routine tasks in the production of bulk biologics from microbial and cell culture systems for Phase I/II & commercial GMP manufacturing.
This is a full-time, salaried position and is 100% on-site. The schedule is a rotating 7:00AM – 7:00PM schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on rotation.)
Catalent’s FDA-licensed, state-of-the-art CGMP manufacturing facility for Gene Therapies is located on the Harmans/BWI campus in Baltimore, Maryland. The campus, featuring two manufacturing facilities, supports Phase 3 through commercial manufacturing of advanced therapeutic products, including Adeno-associated Virus (AAV), and other viral vector-based therapies and vaccines.

The Role
Collaborate with Manufacturing Scientist & Technology (MS&T) and development groups to assist with tech-transfer, scale-up, and translation activities.
Lead for one or more areas in upstream manufacturing as directed by the supervisor.
Represent the department to clients and on cross-functional project teams.
Ability to work with bioreactor operation and cell culture including aseptic technique.
Execute and monitor critical processes supporting mammalian, microbial, and fill-finish production facilities.
Operates bench top equipment including pH, conductivity, Osmo meters, pumps, tubing welders, filter integrity testers, etc.
Interface with Quality Control department to submit in-process samples and coordinate environmental monitoring during key process steps.
Provide support to cross-functional teams to meet production or timeline demands.
Train new staff in scientific concepts, technical operations, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice.

The Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., biology, biotechnology, engineering) or related life science field, with a minimum of 4 years’ related experience.
High School diploma or associate’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., biology, biotechnology, engineering) or related life science field, with a minimum of 5 years’ related experience.
Prior experience in cGMP downstream biopharmaceutical manufacturing, highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of AKTA chromatography and tangential flow filtration (TFF) processes, highly preferred.
Experience working in an aseptic environment, highly preferred.
Proficient in MS Office and related PC skills.
The anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $74,080 – $101,860 plus shift differential and annual bonus, when eligible. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
