Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Associate Industrial Security Analyst/ Industrial Security Analyst who will be involved in the day-to-day oversight and support of all security aspects of active programs. This position covers program security support in Plymouth, Minnesota.

This is a multi-faceted security position, responsible for administering security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment.


The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

Supporting fast-paced, high profile security programs; create, maintain and leverage working relationships with internal and external customers 

Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations

Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies

Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitor’s access to restricted records and materials

Conducts security education classes and related briefings. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken

Escorts visitors or staff into controlled spaces as required

Process and validate citizenship documents for security clearances and badging. Issue badges to new employees

Conduct inventories of sensitive items and enter material information into tracking databases

Process visitor requests and preparation of spaces for classified meetings

Basic Qualifications:

Associate Industrial Security Analyst:

Must have a high school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of related experience; OR 1 year of experience with a bachelor's degree

Experience in program security, with knowledge of implementing a multi-disciplined security program (access control, personnel security, physical security, OPSEC etc.) 

Experience with any of the following: Government manuals (32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM, NIST.SP.800, etc.)

Strong working knowledge of basic office automation tool suites such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience with SIMS

Knowledge of Chipped Badge Card procurement process. Experience working with Trusted Agents

Must have an active Secret clearance or ability to gain and maintain a Secret clearance within 6 months of employment

Basic Qualifications:

Industrial Security Analyst:

Must have a high school diploma or GED with at least 7 years of related experience; OR 3 plus years of experience with a bachelor's degree; OR 1 plus year of relevant experience with a master's degree

Working knowledge of the following standards/documents; 32 CFR part 117, NISP, UL 2050

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or 365, including, MS Word, MS EXCEL

Experience managing Security Vendors and keeping projects on schedule

Experience in programming and troubleshooting Lenel Access Control issues locally and remotely

Must have an active Secret clearance or ability to gain and maintain a Secret clearance within 6 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion.

Current Top Secret clearance

Ability to maintain flexibility to deal with changing priorities and deadlines.

OPSEC program experience

Self-starter with minimal supervision

Willing to work extended hours, in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, excellent communication skills speaking, writing skills and organized skills enabling effective communications

Salary Range: $56,900.00 - $85,300.00Salary Range 2: $68,800.00 - $103,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
