This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.

 

As an Associate Intern for the Project Management Office (PMO) group, you will be assigned to work on a project team and assist the project management and project controls team members in the execution of their project work. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

Assist project managers with meeting facilitation, including meeting agendas, meetings notes, and action item list trackingSupport project managers with stakeholder coordination, including maintenance of contact lists, communication plans, email distribution lists, and MS Teams channel organizationSupport project scheduling, cost tracking, progress monitoring, and project / portfolio reporting for power-related engineering and construction projectsManage RFI and Submittal processing including creating a tracking log and facilitating communication between the contractor and client review teamParticipate in project site visits/walkdowns and safety briefingsSupport material reservations/orders and site logistics including entering reservations, creating a log, and monitoring long lead time itemsAssist with change management including entering new items in the log and updating changes in statusUtilize and expand your academic background in project controls and project management tools and methodologiesEager to learn new skills and develop knowledge to add make a valuable impact to project team operationWilling to engage with others to understand project team needs Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent; preferably from an ABET Accredited programStrong organizational skills with high attention to detailSelf-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal directionAbility to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlinesWorking knowledge in MS Office tools, with emphasis on MS Excel in creating and maintaining detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databasesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels

Valued but not required skills and experience:

Prior related internship, co-op, or work experience, which includes project controls, project planning, project scheduling, and earned value performanceDemonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
