WuXi AppTec is a leading global pharmaceutical, medical device open-access capability and technology platform company with global operations. We have an opening in our Bioburden Department for an Associate Lab Technician.

 

Position Details:

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00 & Saturday 6:30 - 2:30

Starting Pay: $18/hr with opportunity for growth

Responsibilities Perform testing on clients samples: membrane filtration, pour plating Perform plate counting & calculationsPrepare & package samples for sterilizer Perform environmental monitoring Perform daily laboratory maintenance & QA/QC checklistWorks on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is requiredNormally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignmentsWorks under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnelAbility to work in a team environment and independently as requiredContributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goalsPerform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating ProceduresThorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing PracticesMay be required to work holidays and weekendsMay be required to work overtime Other duties as assigned May be required to assist in other departments Qualifications

Experience / Education   

Associate or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Proficient in Oral & Written communication skillsNeed to be able to read, write and understand English

Physical Requirements:

Perform activities with repetitive motionsColor Vision - Ability to identify and distinguish colors.Lift / push / pull / carry / move up to 20 lbs. routinelyStand for long periods. Must be able to work in lab setting with exposure to biohazards / chemicalsMust be able to wear appropriate PPEMust be able to work in environment with variable noise levelsAbility to stand / sit / walk for long periods of timeAbility to crouch, bend, twist, and reachMust be able to perform activities with repetitive motions
