Assists Manager in maintaining operational readiness of the company by meeting Metrology Departments requirements.
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Responsibilities Assists with Metrology: calibration, qualification, and maintenance activities.Assists with maintaining department records.Assists with maintaining adequate inventory of parts and equipment/ instruments. Assists with validations.Works with senior staff on calibrations and good document practices.Notifies management of potential problems, sources of problems, and non-compliance issues.Works on routine assignments also per written instructions.Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel.Contributes to overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi App Tec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.May be required to work holidays and weekends.Assist with remote and onsite response and impact assessment of 24 hr. monitoring environmental alarms. May be required to work overtime or outside normal work hours in order to respond to the 24 hr. monitoring alarms and satisfy customer requests. May be required to assist in other departments or other duties as assigned. QualificationsExperience / Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Prefer metrology experience or technical training with an emphasis on electricity and electronics, physics, or equivalent experience.Experience working with customers with tight deadlines is preferred.Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and will be subject to a driver license record check.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.Need to be able to read, write and understand English.Must have the knowledge and ability to test, troubleshoot, and repair analytical and non-analytical equipment using various test equipment and interpret technical documents, such as schematics or blueprints.Must have intermediate computer skills in order to accomplish the described duties through the use of appropriate computer equipment software and metrology-based applications.Must have strong organizational skills with an innate ability for attention to details.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and exhibit effective interpersonal skills.Ability to receive, comprehend, and effectively communicate detailed information through verbal and written communication.Ability to accurately and reproducibly perform moderate arithmetic calculations and statistics using a calculator or computer program.Ability to use good judgment as dictated by the complexity of specific situations.Ability to communicate effectively directly with customers to manage expectations and prioritize their needs.Must be able to work individually and in a team environment.Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in a controlled lab setting where biohazards and chemicals are present. Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. gloves, lab coat, safety eyewear, mask).Must be able to work in lab environment with variable noise levels.Ability to stand / sit / walk for long periods of time.Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach. Ability to lift / push / pull 20 lbs. routinely.Clarity of Vision: ability to identify and distinguish colors.Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions.Domestic travel required to visit client’s location on an as needed basis.
