Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for the position of Associate Lecturer. The ideal candidate should possess attributes of adaptability and versatility to contribute to the Departments teaching and research initiatives.
Brief DescriptionKey tasks and responsibilities:
Teaching of various Immunology topics to undergraduate and postgraduate students across various disciplines in the Faculty of Health Sciences, contributing to research programmes including postgraduate supervision, writing proposals for grant applications and participation in all academic activities of the Department.
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria for Associate Lecturer:
Academic Qualifications MSc degree in Immunology, or any biomedical related field.
Teaching Experience Evidence of teaching/tutoring Immunology within a university setting. Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision or co-supervision of at least one (1) postgraduate students at Honours level. Evidence of active contribution to departmental administration.
Research Evidence of research capability. Evidence of training postgraduate students on various aspects of research.
Advantages: A prior research activity demonstrated by serving as author or co author on publications. Research experience in immunology, tissue culture, working with human samples, flow cytometry or immunoprofiling assays. HPCSA registration. Evidence of workshop engagement in Health Sciences Education.
RenumerationRemuneration will be commensurate with level of appointment, qualifications and experience. The package includes a provident fund, medical aid and bursaries, subject to the University s regulations.
