Associate Legal Counsel

Reporting to Legal Manager, this position shall support legal manager to provide professional advice, services to support legal affairs and regulatory compliance issues. This role should provide sound opinions and suggestions to the company's business teams based on effective legal and regulatory requirements, support business teams to control and minimize legal risk, assist in establishing or adjusting relevant policies and processes in order to handle legal and compliance matters.

Education Qualification

Bachelor degree, major in Law from an accredited and reputable PRC school preferred. Pass China National Jurisdictional Examination is a plus.

 

No. of Years of Experience

A minimum of 2 years’ working experience in related area. 

 

Professional Exposure

(Technical Skills)

Good understanding on legal and regulatory requirements on auto finance industry in China. Good report writing, administration and communication skills. 

 

Preferred previous experiences

Experience in auto finance company/other financial institutions or bank and finance fields in law firm preferred. 

 

Functional Skills

Good report writing, editing skills. Awareness and sense of regulatory compliance; Good written and spoken English skill.

 

Behavioral Skills Good team player, careful and patient character. High personal standards of integrity and honesty. Self-starter and ability to work independently.  Familiar with Chinese laws and regulations, provide daily legal support to business team regarding retail operation, customer protection, litigation and any potential new projects. Resolve various legal issues/matters in a professional and expert manner, including draft and revise legal documents, legal research, negotiation with external parties, legal framework design or review to new products and projects.  Monitor and analyze any new law or regulation, track regulatory requirement changes, cascade to relevant business teams, provide sound legal and compliance opinion and monitor/guide follow-up actions. Coordinate regulatory matters and properly communicate with regulators as needed.  Provide training to relevant business team regarding legal and compliance related matters.  Support corporate governance matters and administrative work, including preparing documents for company change and filing with the regulator.
